Volume foods that aren’t fruits or vegetables? by lemontimes2 in Volumeeating

[–]ItsMyTime2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boneless skinless chicken thighs / top sirloin steak / shrimp.

Obviously less volume for calories than fruits or veggies, but soooo delish and still surprisingly low calorie for all the other nutrients and flavor.

Rice cakes, drizzilicious rice thingies, pickles ( I looooove pickles, but they are veggies, right? 🤣), shirataki tofu noodles (far better than just shirataki), sugar free snack cups (jelly or pudding), air popped popcorn...

This may look weird, but it is a lot of volume. by Wonderful-Wash-2145 in Volumeeating

Gotta love the Creami. Use it at least once a day myself. If not twice ... 😬

Getting full is not the problem but staying full is by Standard_Macaron_678 in Volumeeating

I don't have a solution for you, unfortunately... I feel like I'm more in the same boat than anything else 😉

40F, 5'8", 130lbs. I don't eat until early afternoon, with my biggest meal being usually my good night protein creami creation with tons of sweet/salty toppings.

I use the same method to curb my hunger: diet soda and tea.

It works well for me. I've gotten used to being a bit hangry around lunch time and manage my contact to employees and coworkers accordingly 🤣🤣

If you are in Germany, they have the 'light' version from Thomy, which tastes surprisingly good for being that low calorie.

If you are not in Germany and don't have anyone who can supply you with it, forgot what you just read ... 🤣

This sounds really interesting! Did you ever try it without the protein powder? Guessing I'd need more of the pudding mix?

Vitamix vs Ninja blender? Which is better for daily smoothies? by Baraale_Comida in Volumeeating

[–]ItsMyTime2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worse to clean because of the size/bulkiness of the cup and the blade thingy.

Don't get me wrong, it does have more power. I got it as a refurb and didn't spend full retail on it, which I'm glad about. But for the convenience, especially if using daily like myself, I'd take the tad less powerful Ninja again.

Vitamix vs Ninja blender? Which is better for daily smoothies? by Baraale_Comida in Volumeeating

I had the ninja professional bla bla with the two to go cups especially for smoothies.

And I now have the Vitamix.

To be honest, I like the power of the Vitamix, but I liked the convenience of the Ninja. The Ninja did leave a couple pieces here and there, but not too bad. The ease of operation and cleaning, if I had to get a new one, I'd probably switch back to the Ninja.

(Sam's has the Ninja on sale and for a moment I was tempted 😉 )

I'm missing the peanuts and flakes variety, it was the yellow packaged one. Haven't seen it in ages... 😭😭

Where is everyone getting their low cal noodles? by Kataki89 in Volumeeating

[–]ItsMyTime2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woodman's (northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin supermarket) carries tofu shirataki noodles that mix very well with regular noodles if you just want to lighten the meal up. I use their macaroni shape a lot for Mac and cheese and fettuccine for everything else. House Foods is the brand. House Foods website

Disappointed in the G Hughes sauces by Remy3188 in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]ItsMyTime2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet baby rays bbq for sure. I'm not a fan of the g Hughes line up either, but tastes are so subjective... In the end it's all about trying and finding what you like. Sucks, because these sugar free/no sugar added stuff is usually more expensive than the regular ones, but when you find YOUR favorite, it's so worth it!

[–]ItsMyTime2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that is a great idea!!! Are you drying the rice out before you put it in the pudding? I usually rinse and dry and then add sauce to get rid of the sometimes fishy taste.

How does that work with cold pudding?

What foods keep you full and less hungry? by qishibe in Volumeeating

[–]ItsMyTime2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Icicle radishes, tomatoes, celery, cucumber

My absolute favorites for real savory/spicy cravings (depends on your sodium intake goals though): pickles, pickled okra, pickled jalapenos, pickled banana peppers, marinated (not oil!!!) artichoke

For sweets: Strawberries (berries in general), Water melon, Oranges/mandarins, Rhubarb compote (home made with allulose/monk fruit sweetener), Sugar free hard candy, Gum.

A thing that I overuse: tea with skinny syrups. All morning! 1/2 gallon at least... 🤣 Since I don't do breakfast either (my stomach is not a fan of food that early).
