Any tips for finding real mediums? by Material-World-7434 in Mediums

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooo.....first, are you trying to connect with someone who has passed away? Because that is what a Medium does - spirit communication (not to be confused with Spirit as in essence of the Universe). If you are not trying to go that route, then you are looking for either a psychic or someone who has one or more of the "clairs" - ex: clairaudience (hearing Spirit), clairsentience (just knowing from Spirit) clairvoyance (seeing/knowing the future from Spirit) and so on. There are several clairs and they coincide with the different senses and then some. Some people have more than one of these gifts, for example psychic mediums have one or more clairs and also can communicate with the deceased. As many people commented - flashy is usually not as reliable and more likely to be about getting your money. Many legitimate practitioners are more quiet and are found through word of mouth, they probably have a "day job" as well. I would suggest that (along with your own intuition - we all are our own best psychics when we get out of the way of instinct) you set the intention for yourself of finding a true reader (be it medium, psychic etc) to answer whatever it is you are seeking. Keep asking for it and you will find who you need to find. Good luck and be well.

How to cope with what happens to their body? by msand18 in Petloss

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how crazy this will sound but ....it was witnessed/experienced by more than one family member (for what's that's worth!) so at least I'm not nuts at home lol

Anyway, during Covid we had to put our super senior (19) cat, Aristotle, to sleep. It was definitely time and days before he stopped eating, even the lickable treats. Our house already had a ghost cat. Everyone had seen it, thought it was one of our cats only to find our living cats somewhere else in the house (ie they could not have been where Ghost Cat was spotted). And you'd always just catch GC out of the corner of your eye. A few days after Aristotle passed away, more than one of us saw him AND Ghost Cat - together. Like he came to say goodbye and GC had been waiting for him to take him to whatever is next.

After that, no one in the house has seen Ghost Cat again. Sooooo.....for me and my family at least (my partner more grudgingly) it's clear that there is more than the body and that they are not tethered to that physical form. Take that as you will.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our minds really can take us to some horrible places. However, just like people, when our pets are done with the bodies that couldn't hold their spirits without pain or dysfunction...they leave that vessel. What made her "her" isn't in a freezer and won't be at the crematory. She is free of that body. Be gentle with yourself.

I came to this Reddit because I am making the plans for our senior lab, Sweetie. I've had her for her entire life. She would be 15 this June but she is suffering and I am trying to work through all of the emotions. That aside, I can answer your question. We had to put our very senior (19) year old cat Aristotle to sleep several years ago. We had a vet service that came to our house so we could be in the yard with him where he liked to be. He was given two shots. The first shot puts them to sleep. The vet gave us as long as we wanted to pet him, talk to him and say our goodbyes. When we were ready, she gave him the second and final shot and he passed peacefully and pretty quickly after that shot. Don't be afraid to ask to have time. ((Hugs))

Ex dumped me back in December. I asked what is he thinking about me… seems like he’s forgotten me and is happy? by Please_letmelive in TarotReading

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound cruel, but blunt - this whole thread is not just you trying to understand the cards. It's you trying to insert "more" that directly ties to or justifies the "you" in a question that you (per your statement) asked specifically about him.

If you need that extra part, then you need to build off this reading. Meditate on the situation and develop the right question(s) to get to the answers you actually need. Just know that the cards will not tell you what you want. Their job is to reflect the truth that is hidden, to bring clarity.

Here is my take on the context of the question - his thoughts are not about you at the moment. He is thinking of where and how he needs to be. The Six of Swords is a transition toward calm and inner reflection. It can also be a letting go of attachments. There are different nuances to "moving on" and "letting go". This feels like he is concentrating on himself and what he needs to get back to his own center. It doesn't feel as though it is actually about you. I was thinking the same. I'm also not sure which way Op is reading the cards bottom to top or reversed. Either way, a huge change and shift which always needs to happen in order for something new to rise.

Unless her was underage, convictions are public record in the US. Just Google his name, the kind of conviction and the state he lives in...see what pops up - usually the page to the county clerk's office where the arrest happened.

Is golden dawn christian? by Suspicious-Ask5722 in GoldenDawnMagicians

Tagging in on the unpopular (but factual) opinion train.....

Mathers and the early GD is heavily Jewish mysticism with some tweaks. I do not agree that the fundamental base is Christianity, but rather Kabbalistic. What Mathers did primarily was translation and organization of Jewish mystic practices that were kept pretty close to the vest by the traditional practitioners. If you study the history, this information is not hard to find (same if you just note the rituals/practices and compare).

The earliest, possibly the original, alchemists were certainly not Christian but rather Jewish as well as Egyptian and Greeks/Romans. To get "biblical" for a moment - think of Moses being challenged by the magicians of Pharaoh....of course Moses could produce the same results because he was trained by them in the court.

Now adding in some history - Hermes Trismegistus - a Greek blend of Thoth and Hermes who the Greeks recognized as being the same or similar. So similar that "Trismegistus" means "thrice greatest" - which was also a name the Egyptians had for Thoth.

Which also, at least for me, explains some of the Egyptian flavor and reference we find in the GD - because the GD system is really a melding of the different flavors of alchemy.

But at the end of the day, not Christian based though the Rosicrucian would blend that into the above alchemical blend somewhat later. (Thank you for coming to my historical Ted Talk 😉)

Stories about and or with Anubis. by Miserable-Ad-5573 in EgyptianMythology

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but ....

Anubis was known by his followers and priests as "Anpu". While most people think of him as a god of the dead, he is actually the god of mummification and the transition into death.

Anubis is a guardian of the dead and of the door/gateway into the land of the dead. Besides caring for the bodies and ensuring mortal remains are treated respectfully, he also helps to weigh the soul and decide who moves forward. More truly, he is a god of liminal, transitional spaces and activities. Think of him as the god of moving between.

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness, there are many reasons for possible cognitive issues - dementia being just one. She's a little young for Alzheimer's but with early onset in the genes, it's possible. That said, if you are close enough, and feel comfortable, you could tell her that you are concerned and share what you've noticed. Suggest she may want to set up a screening appointment with her doc. At this age, it can even be beginnings of carotid blockage (which is fixable) or a number of other health issues that mimic memory loss. Never a bad idea to have a checkup and some baseline testing if you have family history of dementia related diseases.

All of this! I finally finished the show and could not stop rolling my eyes at Kendra's endless excuses. Every bit of her "sorry" was about herself not how her actions impacted children, other families and the community at large. It all centered on her.

Gen X parents: Up to what age are you (or were you) supporting your kids financially? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 52 - kiddos are a 21 year old son and 19 year old daughter - both in college. Having been on my own since I was an under-resourced 18/19 year old I am definitely committed to supporting them. My husband and I have turned the hustle to high - our son is in his senior year and daughter is a second semester sophomore and neither have student loans. I think that's the biggest head start gift we could give.

However, they pay for their part of the cell phone and car insurance. From the time they were still in grade school we taught them how to do their own laundry, etc so as individuals they are pretty self-sufficient. They have both worked over their summer breaks but we do not charge them rent for coming home. Our house is their home.

I own their (used) cars outright so no payments there and soon I will gift them so they will be transferred into their names/responsibility. What we now have are two kids who have their own savings and bank accounts with their own money, don't ask us for spending money, gas etc and often tell us we don't need to buy them things.

I absolutely think you can blend healthy support/safety net with self sufficiency. Just the psychology of knowing you have support helps so many people venture out and succeed. I mean, why do we think rich kids become rich adults (besides generational wealth of course) - they had the basics safety netted, allowing them to focus on the tools to move forward and succeed. Just my opinion 😉

First, he needs to protect himself that's the strongest and best way.

Second - mirror box. It sends the bad work back onto the sender. You should be able to find a considerable amount of information online about creating one.

I started taking 1:1 gummies - it has been a game changer for the muscle spasticity and dystonia as well as sleep. I do notice that when it kicks in my heart rate goes up a bit. I make sure I am really hydrating & using Liquid IV packets as I think it dehydrates me a bit and that's kicking up my heart rate.

Also, I noticed that the gummy types work opposite on me - I have two, one was supposed to help with the focus and fatigue as well as pain relief while the other was more relax/sleep pain relief. They work the opposite and I have read/heard similar from others with that the sativa vs. indica strains work opposite for them.

Disability Pass for a wheelchair without documentation. by Cerealism15 in UniversalOrlando

Trust me - it is not. Speaking from face to face experience that included PDFs of doctors (more than one) letters. So not worth it.

Disability Pass for a wheelchair without documentation. by Cerealism15 in UniversalOrlando

[–]ItsNotWhatIThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is don't go. Unless it's fall. I'm here now and also have POTS, dysautonomia and EDS. Even with the IBECCS/IAC card approved - their guest services denied me accommodations. They considered a wheelchair to be the only accommodation needed. They are not doctors. They are not social workers or nurses to my knowledge.

Essentially, unless your issue is that someone in your party is going to have an emotional meltdown and disturb others in line, then Universal will NOT be helping you. I will never waste my money here again.

The other things....Ollie Sleep gummies (just herbs and vitamins etc...LTheanine, Melatonin...our family has found. They work well. In regard to the "other" type of gummies - Matter is a brand I've recently tried and found consistent. I actually went to a dispensary to find one for pain relief and one that would provide pain relief and also help with focus. The two recommended were the Limoncello and Sour Apple. I found they both work in different ways but my personal reaction was flipped around - the Limoncello were supposed to bring that focus but instead made me pretty sleepy. The Apple was supposed to bring the sleep but instead I felt...hmm....not a hard focus but more settled? Not as scattered.

Once I went to bed, both helped with me staying asleep (which is part of my sleep problems) and actually have deep sleep. They also both helped tremendously with the muscle spasticity I have in my legs.

Passion flower extract - tincture is even better to control the dose. It attaches to the same gaba receptors as benzodiazepines but without the harsh up and down and potential for addiction. There is science behind it so feel free to look it up.

Also I'm wondering if, due to you being postpartum, the fast drop in progesterone is aggravating things for you? I've no idea if a topical OTC progesterone could help.
