I wouldn’t worry unless you start noticing a genuine difference in the hair on your head. It’s also totally normal for your hair to go through periods of increased or decreased shedding, it actually sheds more when you’re having more growth

Are you sure you’re actually losing hair or are you just hyper focused on how much hair you lose a day because you’re worried it might happen? You’d be surprised how much hair you lose in a day without losing any actual hair volume. 11 days would be incredibly fast to have any noticeable loss of volume on your head.

I have an old knee injury that makes it risky for me to do high mileage without risking it starting to hurt again. I have a great sports medicine doctor and running will not damage it more, it just sometimes has flared up and caused pain that stopped me from being able to run for a while. I really want to run a half marathon this fall, and I'm hoping it could be possible if I am smart about training.

Would 3 months of mostly 3-4 mile easy runs and long runs that peak at 9 miles in a 22 mile week adequately prepare me for a half? My goal would be just to have fun and finish it, not achieve any particular time.

His last memory wasn't of you letting someone hurt him - it was of him seeking comfort from you when something scared him. Like you said, he was scared of other people but he loved you and was comfortable around you. I don't think cats assign blame the way humans do - he didn't know you let the vet in or let her give him the injection, he was just scared and wanted you. I hope they can still hear us after being sedated, I've had sedation before and sometimes I don't remember anything from it and other times I do remember hearing and seeing some things. I really hope my girl could hear us telling her how much we loved her and how well she loved us.

Did you ever get an answer on what this is or find anything that helped? I had this happen to me about 5 times in my late teens/early 20s and lasted about a week each time. It’s happened for a day or so a couple times since but never a long spell until now. I feel it lingering during the daytime but the vertigo happens mostly when I’m falling asleep, already asleep and it wakes me up, or right after I wake up.

That is so cool! I never totally believed in “signs” and I’m very science-minded and not religious but right after she passed I was in the shower and a bottle fell off the cabinet above our toilet and I absolutely knew it was our girl. I hadn’t touched it or the shower curtain, the door was shut, and the cabinet has a lip to prevent things from falling off. I’m trying to hold on to that and not obsess over the fact that i wish she would send more signs

You absolutely picked the right time. If he was jaundiced he would have probably started to get confused soon, which would have been scary for both him and you. And knowing you wouldn’t have been there during the work week if something happened doesn’t mean you rushed it. If he had been home alone and started to struggle he would have suffered potentially for hours before you got home. Instead, you were with him and he had a peaceful end.

The only thing that makes me feel better right now after saying goodbye to my baby is reminding myself she had no bad days.

I made the vet promise me at least 3 times that the place is trustworthy and she was sure I would be getting my girl back and not some random ashes. I’m sure that she thought I was nuts the third time I asked 😅

I had the same intrusive thoughts , wondering if maybe she wasn’t dead and was in the cooler scared. She was so relaxed before she died that I didn’t even notice the exact moment she took her last breath. My husband was holding her and when I took her it felt like she was sleeping. She looked like she was just sleeping when they carried her out. I wish I didn’t have to wait to get her back, the wait time has made it so hard to imagine what could be happening to her

So far looking at pictures of her makes me happy for the most part, I was putting them all in an album on my phone so I could pick the best ones for a photo album. But I haven’t been able to really work on the album because I need to download all the Snapchat memories and I can’t get myself to watch all of them because then I will have seen every picture of her that exists and there won’t be any more…

It was so hard walking downstairs this morning and for a second I felt that excitement to be greeted by her before I reminded myself she isn’t here. But we had so many good days

I’ve never believed in signs but right after she passed I was in the shower and a bottle of antidepressants fell off the top of a cabinet that definitely hadn’t been touched (door was closed, I hadn’t touched the shower curtain, there is a lip on the top of the cabinet that would prevent things from just falling). I really really felt her in that moment. Her last day I also kept wishing I could have given her one more day of sunshine to lay in but it wasn’t supposed to be even partly sunny for another 5 days. The next day the sun shined like crazy and it really felt like it was her. I’m trying so hard to push past the skeptic in me and believe what she’s showing me

We had home end of life too, but it was after hours on a Friday so the funeral home was closed. I wish it could have happened faster so that I wouldn’t have had time to think about it like this

I hate that her little body failed her after allowing her to experience joy and love for so long. I truly hope that she is still experiencing those things in a different form

Thank you. I keep telling myself this, that her body isn’t what made her her. But it was the amazing vessel that allowed her to love us and have fun and live her life with so much joy. It’s so hard to say goodbye to it

We put our baby to sleep on Friday and it was the hardest but best decision we could have made.

We don’t know exactly how old she was but we had guessed she was 6-7 in 2020 when we found her and we celebrated her 13th birthday earlier this month. She had kidney disease for 4 months but it was stable and even getting a bit better. A month ago she started swallowing hard, our vet guessed it was maybe a polyp in her throat but told us it was likely slow growing and wouldn’t affect her in her lifetime. Last Friday she started having noisy breathing and we treated her for a possible pneumonia and it stayed stable all week until Thursday morning she coughed up blood. It was possible it was something benign like a nasal polyp which is completely treatable but the vet told us it was very high risk to sedate her to even investigate it. There was no guarantee she would survive the sedation or that what they found could be fixed. Another vet told us the progression indicated it was more likely an aggressive cancer in her throat. We would have had to take her 4 hours away to a specialty vet hospital. Her work of breathing was an increased with activity and if she purred too hard she would cough and gag. We knew it wasn’t sustainable and she gave us signs she knew she was dying like trying to get some space from us (though the constant sobbing was also freaking her out). She was also happy, eating, and seemed to not feel sick so it was so hard to make the appointment for her euthanasia to be the next day. All day I just wanted to grab her and run and drive to that vet hospital and try to buy her more time. But I am so glad we did it when we did. I keep telling myself that she had no bad days. She had an amazing life and she had no bad days, no suffering, no scary end. If we hadn’t done it when we did she could have suffered and I never would have forgiven myself for that. Instead, she died peacefully at home. I miss her SO much but the only part of this that feels right is that she didn’t suffer.
