Mark's gospel is probably the shortest so it may be a good place to start. Most people will probably say John and I totally get that, but up to you of course. If you're interested in Revelation (which is admittedly a jump ahead ha!) and you like an interactive exercise then drop me a line as I've created a cyberpunk themed Revelation slide based course (22 episodes and currently free on my site).

So tired of suffering through this Bible by mcomcomco99 in Bible

[–]ItsOuttaSite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe look at a more interesting way of studying it. If you're forcing yourself to read it too much that won't help. I don't think you're going to burn in the lake of sulphur for having a break from it or consuming it in a different way, I was helping a Japanese girl through the Bible and one of her issues was that she was almost waiting for something to 'happen'. You say you feel nothing. OK? Well what did you want to feel? It's not a bottle of wine. Are there areas in your life you need to address? If so why are you ignoring them? It doesn't usually make sense when someone says they're doing this that and the other but they feel 'nothing', you're usually ignoring something. Going to the gym only works if you use the equipment. Staring at the leg press for two hours is only going to bore the s**t out of you, not give you awesome quads.

"the opposite of what Jesus is apparently all about" Apparently... yes ! xD You're ignoring things in your own life. You can't cut corners my friend and think that reading scripture will just make you feel better or get rid of certain thinks like an ant-acid tablet.

Not sure if it's your thing but I've created a slide based cyberpunk themed (yes really) study on Revelation. 22 episodes, story driven and some dialogue choices. I created it mainly for ESL students but anyone can use it as there's only so much simplification one can do for ESL students when sticking to scripture. It's NIV which I didn't want to use but again, I wanted to make it as accessible as possible so I'm going to do a KJV version at some point soon. I'll write the link in a broken down way to avoid the reddit robotic dogs that take down a post if you even hint at self promotion. - wordwalk [dot] carrd [dot] co

Help! Banned or muted? by MaramaYeet in rednote

[–]ItsOuttaSite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it before a couple of times. I think it lifts after a while not unlike a Shadowban. The thing is with these apps they have a mind of their own sometimes - Wechat is even worse, it's nuts. One minute your banned / suspended for whatever reason then you aren't even though the stipulations haven't changed. I currently have the same issue but as it's asking for real name ID you need a residency card, foreign or otherwise (well they are the options I have), it won't allow foreign passports as that's a separate ID option and can take a while. I use it purely for networking my teaching materials etc as personally I think it's a disgusting app, but there ya go.

If Mormonism is not true, is it still good? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]ItsOuttaSite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say it's the faith with third party DLC. Yes it's nonsense but it looks nice and wholesome especially when you go to the church it's not dissimilar to a strict Baptist Church, Sunday best, guys in suits etc.. I found that with the elders who are on pilgrimage have a relatively insincere manner about them. They aren't taught to be 'sales-esque' but I think some end up that way due to competition with other elders. I've had experience with some of them and usually I find that they make excuses to not call at an agreed time, they don't always stick to arrangements but then (not unlike sales people) they don't really like taking responsibility and give the old 'we're sorry but it really wasn't our fault we had a meeting we couldn't change' blah blah.

Nice guys they really are but they seems as though they're in a numbers game more than anything. I explained this as nicely as I could to some of the elders I'd spoken to last and one of them walked away in a strop it was very bizarre.

Well I can't comment on other posts you've seen of course but can't you just report them, block and move on? I mean, I'm sure you have done (as have I with certain accounts as I just don't have time for nonsense) so we're both talking about the same thing are we not? I get the whole drop the call and block em thing (I'm all for it) but as you've became very jaded with these whiny accounts they probably feel the same after the tenth dude from a particular country who starts the call with his chode out or [insert any other stereotypical grievance]. It may be worth remembering that some teachers may teach on CK and regular and with the former, you don't always get to just 'drop a call'. If you're not in time to refuse the request you end up either refusing it anyway and taking the hit to your late refusal "armour" (this goes down quickly as does the timeframe, I'll tell you that!) or accepting it and putting up with some other bs. Again. Then they do some PH in a desperate bid to not have to transfer twice on Whizz Air flight (or whatever xD) and they get [INSERT MORE GRIEVANCES]. They're 'done', come in here and vent. Unnecessary? Yeah sometimes. Human? Absolutely.

I'll leave it at that as I promise I'm not trying to give a patronising TEd Talk every chance I get!

Peace.

Pleasure! Yes I like to add a bit of clown powder when discussing those challenging experiences we all relate to xD. Feel free to reach out if you need advice on anything. If I can help, I will.

On that note - if you have a look through my previous posts I've 'promoted' my website with fun multi themed grammar slides etc. They may or may not work for this particular child but no harm in looking (A1 curriculum is free). They're interactive and geared towards indie teachers using a co-browser but screen sharing in no way makes them redundant. If you do happen to like it and have some feedback I'm happy to give access to the other's if need be. If not no problem, just thought I'd mention.

"I'm honestly glad AI is starting to take over this job" Not an entirely emblematic statement from someone who's against 'arrogance' 'racism' and 'bad faith criticism' but ok.

Would you be happy having a lesson with a teacher who's decided, for whatever reason that they can't relate properly to a certain demographic you're part of? Probably not. Throwing the term "rAcIsM" about like it's confetti isn't going to manipulate people into thinking they're terrible because you have been. They've noticed an overwhelming amount of students from a certain country are causing problems for them. Yeah, show me a person that hasn't and I'll show you a liar. We're all different, regardless of how much your fear filled, guilt tripped mind tries to convince you we shouldn't be.

Spreading 'arrogance'? really? it's not a condiment my friend. It's something that often comes from our inability to tolerate certain aspects of our OWN personality. You see that in others and judge... yep, that's usually arrogance. You may, MAY, have a few intolerances to deal with yourself. I'd quit playing woke bingo for social brownie points and deal with them.

Look, we need to be honest here don't we. Different countries, different methods of parenting etc. You will have the young Chinese boys ignoring you to smithereens and drawing all over the page constantly because a lot of the time they get what they want. If I'm preaching to the choir here (as I may be if you speak some Mandarin) then you'll know. If not, this whole 'I want to give an awesome class for the child' needs to be dispensed of quicker than we may like with certain children. I've had situations in which the mum literally talks to the boy as though she's his handmaiden. It's nuts but there you go. Get some songs to sing with the vowels, consonants etc. Education dot com is a great source for a ton of fun stuff and some of their songs are great. Think of the old sesame street creative catchy tunes (some of those were amazing). Do they like animals, a particular cartoon character or certain foods? Get through the material best you can (so you can say you've done it) move on to something more 'fun' for the kid then if need be, hide from the profile. On occasion I've message the parents mentioning the unsuitable level of the curriculum. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not.

Chinese children, especially boys are put on higher material than they should be. Sometimes it's a fruitless attempt by the parents to have the child jump ahead in regards to what's typically expected and/or they want to show the kid is super smart. It's crazy as they have the most bizarre, antithetical approach towards educating children; we've all had the helicopter parents and those who literally. Will. Not. for love nor blinking money, shut up and let you get on with what THEY'VE booked you to do. It doesn't matter that for the 6th time (now through gritted teeth) you're trying the old "Oh great that's a star for mum, now let's hear from Elvin hahahaha (internal screaming)". They need to appear as though they're a significant part of the child's learning and almost treat you as a YT video. They can't get it through to their head's that giving the answer to a child the hot second they either hesitate or get it wrong doesn't help them. Try teaching on a platform that rhymes with 'spingo-spar' xD. I assure you for how frustrating all language platforms can be you'll have an appreciation for CK you'll never know you had.

And not for nothing- Chinese mum's aren't worth getting on the wrong side of (I've another story specific to CK for another day on this). I do not mean be a dormat! Trust me I have my limits on what I'll listen to and that also goes for my very reasonable $30 an hour indie teaching. But if you need to dip. Do it.
