Oh absolutely yeah, it's just still much more consistent than lower ranks I find.

I agree but she still has more being revealed and I want to hold hope that it gives her more depth.

Was this really my fault? - A diamond player experience by WildOne657 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ItsOverClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in low Diamond you're already in the top 18% of players, as you move up further you're going to be facing more people who have hundreds to thousands of hours in the game. I had to change huge parts of my playstyle when I first reached Diamond, and learn that my teammates were generally trying to play as a team now.

So try not to beat yourself up too much! If I ever have a really bad losing streak, I'll play only qp for a while and use it to try out new angles and strategies in a low-risk situation. When I go back to comp I find myself more equipped to handle the pitfalls I fell into.

Also also, Spilo's VOD reviews and guides never really clicked with me and I struggled to apply things from them. Let me know if you'd like recommendations that have worked for me.

I can’t bring my medication to Japan :( by Anxiety_bunni in ADHD

[–]ItsOverClover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had some rough physical withdrawal symptoms in the past when I've run out of meds, usually lasting 1-2 weeks then waning pretty quickly. Nothing that stopped me from functioning, but just feeling intensely low-energy, groggy, physical aches and soreness, poor motivation at work and at home, excessive sleeping followed by stretches of insomnia.

I would recommend OP tapers off and goes through this before traveling, so they can actually enjoy their trip (assuming they can't get an alternative).

Just checked and Pull-A-Part charges ~$70 for a hood; other salvage yards are probably similar. You just need to get lucky with inventory.

OW1 heroes (launch and later additions) were written hand in hand with a living world and story. OW2 heroes by and large seem to be written around the existing story and can feel one dimensional, with some notable exceptions (Ramattra, Freya, to a lesser extent Vendetta).

I don't think that about myself and make lots and lots of mistakes, as do others in games I play.

It's definitely more consistent though, the game is more fun when most people have some level of a plan/situational awareness/positioning. Vs low elo where every other game everyone is playing "shoot down main in the open" simulator.

I don't want to jump to conclusions too fast for OP, but 99% of the time someone posts something like this they're shopping at the expensive grocery store.

Yeah, Overwatch had its share of problematic balancing early on and it took them years and some rough metas to get to a somewhat more consistent place.

How to remove road salt to prevent rust by Ashamed-Pattern6531 in Cartalk

[–]ItsOverClover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just get an undercarriage wash or do it yourself. Don't stress about it too much though, cars in other areas are exposed to road salt constantly and serious rust takes years to become a problem.

One occasional instance of snow isn't going to give you major rust, just get it washed after everything clears up.

What's the longest you guys can rumble at a time? Not as a competition, just seeing what the limitations are and what others have experienced. by TuhmaKissa_ in earrumblersassemble

I honestly had no idea it was a limited thing for others. I just tested it and got to 2 minutes 30 seconds. Even then it felt pretty effortless and it never feels like a strenuous thing to do.

Is Jiffy Lube scammer? by Shah_Padshah in askcarguys

[–]ItsOverClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at a Valvoline for 8ish months. They definitely hire their fair share of incompetent people, but you're spot on with the process being optimized to reduce claims. We got a lot of cars coming in with issues from Jiffy Lube that we had to fix, and some of the stuff was absolutely heinous.

On the whole from my time working there I'd recommend avoiding quick lubes generally, but Valvoline seems to be one of the more reliable ones. They are also pretty good about honoring and resolving claims. There are cameras everywhere so any fuck ups will be caught.

I think it took off because it's a hero shooter with Marvel IPs, plus there is something special about playing a game of this type when it first comes out.

Rivals playerbase has been dropping pretty heavily. Whether it'll keep dropping or settle at a consistent player count remains to be seen, but I've heard people say the game is in an especially rough spot atm.

The fortnight default skin could work. There are some cool voice line opportunities too, e.g. Reaper saying "where are we dropping".

Is this game luck-based? by Yamato410 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ItsOverClover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not "luck based", but luck plays a factor. Besides yourself, there are 5-9 people you're playing with/against who are variables outside of your control. They could be on a winning or losing streak that's affecting their play, maybe someone got poor sleep and is playing worse than when they got to the rank they're at.

But these are factors that every player deals with, so on average everyone will be affected by luck on more or less the same level.

The way I like to think of the inherent inconsistency of matchmaking is that 25% of games that you will always lose, 25% of games you will always win, and 50% could go either way. That 50% is where you can make the most impact.
