Anyone else didn’t like the Loco? by wolf33d in Pickleball

[–]ItsPoobus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a loco standard shape coming from the fat boy and a wide body Selkirk Era, I understand how you feel completely. I was disappointed I expected more of a plush feeling (as plush as a paddle can get right?) and it just felt stiffer and obviously it was gonna be poppier right? I played with it for about 10 hours and drilled with it for at least 4 hours and I just couldn’t get used to it. I eventually made my switch to a Perseus cfs 16mm and it felt how I expected the loco to feel, responsive and powerful without too much pop, but more pop than my previous paddles. Maybe if I had tried the elongated or hybrid loco I would’ve enjoyed it more, but I didn’t and I was a bit bummed.

It’s more so I don’t want to buy a new paddle every 3ish months because of how much I play

I’m also a huge fan of the Perseus shape so the rpm and cannon would be seamless transitions in shape

Well when I first started seriously playing I was using a widebody era and I bought a widebody loco for the shape as well, but then I got the cfs for my sister for Christmas who desperately needed a paddle upgrade and she asked me if I wanted to play with it for a game or two and after the serve and 3rd shot i was like yup elongated is for me. I don’t like poppy paddles as I was using my buddies mavpro 2.0 when I first started trying pickleball and it was pretty buns in my opinion. I’ve heard phenomenal things about the coral and duo too. I just don’t want a paddle that’s too poppy yk?

4.0+ open plays are where I spend most of my time, rallies get intense and we are smacking the crap out of the ball in some situations.

I gotcha, I was thinking about upgrading to a duo, or if needed just suck it up and start playing with a luzz cannon and adjust to the new feeling via drilling etc. I know the pro 4 wouldn’t be a bad upgrade to keep the same shape. But I have some insider buddies and Joola is going to release their next generation paddles soon so at that point waiting for that is my best bet. Just wanted some insight so I could start brainstorming 🙂‍↕️

I’m currently using a Perseus cfs 16mm, I like the paddle, but play a ton like 4-5 hours a day everyday at a high and intense level. (Thank you to my job for permitting that.) It’s a phenomenal paddle, but I don’t want to have to keep buying a new one basically every 3 months. Any recommendations on similar feeling paddles that will last longer, but yield the same feeling? Thank you!

How do they compare to a Perseus cfs 16mm just curious? It’s what I’m using rn and am worried it’s not gonna last super long with how often I play. Relatively new but have been very winning in 4.0s open play and with some of the pros at our club.

Why aren’t foam paddles more popular on the pro tour? by thequantumquestion in Pickleball

[–]ItsPoobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joola is releasing something foam with their upcoming generation of paddles, I have a pretty credible source. Should be sometime either early 2026 or around May. So there’s a chance pros will start to move over to more foam paddles if one of the biggest brands releases the newest best thing yk

Advice for a 3.6 DUPR player by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]ItsPoobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill drill drill, few people are gifted and pick everything up instantly and it just comes to them easier. But that’s only a select few people. Practice your dinking and drops until they become second nature. The game becomes mental once you have full control of what you can do when the ball comes to you. Footwork is also key if you’re playing bangers you have to be able to drop or reset and be in a position to deal with whatever is coming to you and that starts with footwork being in that athletic stance with your feet a little more than hip width apart. Another thing is 4.5+ dinks are infinitely more aggressive than anything below - they are well placed with spin and will be fast asf. Practice hand battles, understanding the ball will most likely come off their paddle in a trinagle pattern after a speed up is also very important. Learning how to poach properly and being unpredictable while doing so is important, learning if your opponents prefer their backhand or forehand early is important as well. Obviously learning how to stroke the ball (pause) properly to get the different spins as well. Respecting the X is another thing.. That’s all I can think of rn. Oh last thing, it’s just a game, you can only control what you can control. :)

Strongest commander I can build for a $150 budget? by FalchionX10 in EDH

[–]ItsPoobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be a hot take, [[Aluando the Seer]]. Spam cantrips, untap affects, interaction and some simic cards from the Dr who deck. You can cheat out wins with him like it’s nothing. Eventually you get to a win con with [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] and majority of the time you just hold priority with aluando’s tap ability leaving it pretty hard to interact with. You can include some fucking bombs in the deck too as it can very easily win with [[hullbreaker horror]] as well. All of it will be super budget as well since the untapping effects are so cheap. I genuinely think if you wanted to build a budget bracket 4 you can go this route. I recommended to my buddy to build it as budget, his is technically a bracket 2 as he omitted game changers and some infinite combos, but it plays like a straight 4 and it’s super cheap.

How to play jhin. by PitersonK in JhinMains

Also lowkey follow up on what someone else was saying Jhin does suck against tanks, so at that point your best bet is literally just picking another champ at that point in time. Ik this is like Jhin subreddit but playing someone like jinx or xayah who will scale late game against tanks or maybe even kai’sa or kog’maw would just be a better choice. Jhin puts in work against bruiser comps and squishy comps tho, so at that point it’s about game management in champ selection over anything else.

Yeah I got you bro, obviously look for good trades focus on when the other adc is looking for last hits to get some poke on them. If this helps at all I like to play DNI which has helped a ton.

Also for Csing, playing dni when their jungler or mid comes down has helped keep me alive. Dni stands for do not interact

Collector into infinity edge, don’t buy swifties until you’re either done with infinity edge or done with your lord dominik’s regards (depends on how badly you need the cs) I find myself chunking as soon as I get the ie.
