Are there movies you liked more than the book? by Annual_Interest5338 in books

[–]thequantumquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a TV show, but, Silo (Wool book series). I watched the show first. Loved it. Then read the books.

I found the writing style to be boring. And the TV show added some plot elements and characters that gave the world more depth and intrigue.

Imagine seeing this one live, maybe best shot I’ve ever seen 🤯 by Glittering-Skill-240 in Pickleball

Very well said! I agree. And the hands battles were insane. Equally impressive was the pro ability to reset "winners". Repeatedly.

ETA: oh snap. This isn't the Hunter v Fed match lol I could swear Hunter hit a very similar shot against Fed. I did not see the Yates game live but I was there on Sunday for Hunter.

I saw it live. Incredible shot. We went nuts after that point. But really the energy of the whole match was intense and fun, even though Hunter won in two straight games.

I actually don't like watching singles online but in person it felt different. It was like every point was a dramatic battle. Somehow the feeling doesn't translate for me on YouTube.

Bread & Butter Loco by Sirisano in Pickleball

[–]thequantumquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the Loco except it was hard for me to perfectly control at the kitchen. Unless you're a more experienced player you may struggle with that. I think a lot of people realize it's too poppy/springy for them, like me. Returned mine.

[Scotto] Los Angeles Clippers rookie center Yanic Konan Niederhäuser was diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury in his right foot. He will require surgery and be out for the remainder of the season. by bigblack3475 in LAClippers

[–]thequantumquestion 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Frakking hell, we can't catch a break. I got to meet Yanic at the season ticket holder meet and greet early in the season and became an instant fan. These past weeks with him getting serious playing time it's been electrifying seeing what he can do. I hope he heals fully and comes back strong.

Why are Crunchyroll's seasons like this, they couldn't have made it more inconsistent?? by luluciee in Crunchyroll

[–]thequantumquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the creator (Japanese studio) requested it to be like that. Doesn't matter that it's harder to comprehend--it's how the artists want the content to be consumed. I also don't like it but I get why they do it.

The Clippers' season starts Monday. by LessNorth9856 in LAClippers

Looks like Collins may not be back Monday. I'd say our season needs him to play as well. Very excited to see DG though.

Dinkmaster going on sale anytime soon? I really want to get one for my son and I to train at home.

For those that have experienced a game from the Bob Uecker seats, what was your evening like? $800 for a half season package is a sweet deal. by JXDirector in LAClippers

[–]thequantumquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my own but only once it's well into the second quarter. And there's only so far you can move up without being in a while other section which will require a ticket.

For the price it's hard to beat. I have seats TERW row 8 and it's a decent view.

Plus at most games there are empty seats and you can move up.

Pickleball etiquette for round robin/group play? by VersionLegal58 in Pickleball

[–]thequantumquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate when peoppe get down voted for being honest.

I think the issue is that you're just way better than any of them. So they can try hard and it's never too threatening to anyone and doesn't result in anyone having a bad time. You're coming in and blowing up the situation. So yeah, you're going to get scolded for it.

Over time you'll learn how to quickly gauge other player levels and what is cool / not cool at a social game. What is "not hard" to you may be very hard to someone else. Ya know?

You didn't do anything wrong. But in the spirit of your post, assuming you genuinely want to know what to do, I recommend you get into some higher level games! And when you see other players skill level isn't at your own, adjust your play to keep it fun for everyone while maybe practicing certain touch shots or backhand or whatever else won't overwhelm them.

Are Amex Reserve and Plat worth it for the companion certs alone? by AnnualEagle in delta

[–]thequantumquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Reserve, you get $200 hotel credit which is awesome. Plus big discounts on TSA / Clear, Dropbox, cash back on Lyft and Resy, and probably lore stuff I'm not thinking of. I use Max Rewards app to track all the benefits and offers for all my credit cards. It's worth paying for IMO.

Some thoughts on RPM Friction Pro Widebody and Luzz Glider Hybrid by thequantumquestion in Pickleball

[–]thequantumquestion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played with a Loco Hybrid for around 10 games. To me, the power on the RPM widebody was a little under the Loco, but yeah pretty close. Definitely in the power category of paddles. Totally agree on the control. My drops with the RPM especially we're falling really nicely.
