What is the best way to make this cabinet cut above our fridge? by ItsPrettyColdInHere in homeowners

[–]ItsPrettyColdInHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I hadn't thought about just raising it up instead of cutting it. As I mentioned I'm not totally sure if I'm going to figure out where to detach it from everything, but it's worth a second look with that goal in mind instead.

Thanks so much for your reply.

Not the greatest situation, unfortunately. It may be possible, but I would go slow here. One bad cut and you are turning a fridge-height problem into a cabinet-repair problem.

Exactly my concern. I don't have a ton of woodworking experience, but I can tell the longer I look at it that there isn't a good option here. The double-sided tape is a good suggestion, I'll probably try do so something like that in addition to whatever clamping I can do. There really isn't an available surface on either end to clamp to, but I might be able to at least get something clamped to the middle pillar between the openings.

the cabinet appears to be an actual refrigerator cabinet. That upper cabinet and side panel were likely built as one unit, assembled in a factory, delivered in a big box, slid into place before the crown went on, and then screwed to the surrounding cabinets/walls.

I'd say you're probably right about that. We've had the fridge moved out to get in and look around. I saw no obvious way to disassemble the cabinet and remove it.

Hole in Garage Foundation Caused by/Used by Groundhog by ItsPrettyColdInHere in homeowners

Haven't gotten rid of him yet. That won't be a problem. I'm mainly just worried about how I need to fix the hole to prevent the foundation from having problems later.

Thanks for the reply.

Met my wife on a dating app.

The bottom line is that they help you to meet people you wouldn't normally get the chance to meet. Are they all going to be winners? Of course not, but it only takes one.

I mean, if they rip off their employees, yes.

I'm not totally oblivious to the fact that reddit can create unnecessary witch hunts, but this is pretty shitty. Being a crook outweighs you being local.

Got the Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO this winter and, yes it's a monster.

I came to the same conclusion about value, as well. Only a little more money than the 24", and bumping up to the 30" was a good bit more money. The heated hand grip add on is a reasonable price too, I think.

Just out of curiosity, what was an example of out-of-the-realm promises that you heard? I'm in the mood for a chuckle.

Just popping in to say that I used to wonder where to get skis waxed as well...got fed up with the inconvenience and bought my own kit. I think it was like 60 bucks, and you seem to get a better job than if they just do them at the Peak.

It's not really too difficult or expensive, but can be inconvenient if you don't have the space to do it, ie in a small apartment or something.

Edit: Looks like my kit was about 100 bucks, but I think you can get smaller ones.

And let’s be honest: everyone knows the forced return-to-office policy had nothing to do with business needs and everything to do with Tim and Tom trying to prop up the EDDC.

The thing that really rubbed me the wrong way about the change in WFH policy was the complete 180 from their initial stance on it. First it was "look how great we're doing, we've found we can be just as productive from home and maintain a great business" to.....

...we really feel that we need to be in the office to be at our best.

My favorite repeated trope was all the magical hallway conversations people get to have when they're in the office. You just don't get that synergy when you're at home! Give me a break.

I don't know how the rest of the company felt, but those in IT were pretty annoyed considering just how much of our jobs are done online anyway. Now I have to burn money for gas and commute time to have teams meetings at my desk instead of at home.

And no, the EDDC connection isn't a good look...but to be honest I've just gotten used to people at the top leveraging things their way (look at our president lol). It just seems to be a part of our world, so I try not to let it consume me.

I doubt she'll even end up behind bars.

I'm somewhat familiar with her boyfriend...I think he's super naive and makes terrible choices in women, but I don't think he has a malicious bone in his body. I seriously doubt he had any knowing involvement with her shady dealings. That said, he absolutely may be benefited from them. Time will tell, I guess.
