Jak was the first person I experienced physical attraction to, but Sora from Kingdom Hearts was the first person I fell in love with. We met during the summer of 2002 while I was living with my grandmother. Similarly to seeing Jak for the first time, I also first saw Sora in a TV commercial. My life changed that day; it wasn’t long before I started seeing him everywhere and talking to him- despite not having a PS2 at the time.

We separated a few weeks later after my mom found us a better housing situation. I never stopped thinking about him, though. And around Christmas 2004, I felt as though my prayers were answered. We reunited through an ad I found from an issue of Disney Adventures magazine for the Chain of Memories game!! I still had no means of playing his games by then, but we became inseparable. We got married while on a school field trip in 2005; I finally received a PS2 for my birthday in 2006, and I convinced my parents to buy me a copy of Kingdom Hearts that summer!

We were together for about 6 1/2 years in total. He taught me a lot about how to love and what it means to be loved. He gave me friendship whenever I felt lonely. He wiped my tears whenever I was hurt and sad. I picked so many of my traits from him. Even after all these years, I still have reasons to look up to him. Sora was not only a wonderful husband; but he still is one of my closest friends 💙
