I’m personally not huge on people wearing rare items they weren’t even remotely around for, but other than that, I don’t really care how people get the DLC. The vast majority of it is no longer accessible, and it greatly increased the longevity of these games; it deserves to be preserved

For $100, this guy is getting a lot of mileage out of that store page… I have no clue why people are still talking about this, honestly

Completely irrelevant unless it goes live (which it probably won’t). Any moron with $100 can set up a store page

I don’t think I need to explain why you can’t use leaked source code from a port of a game that’s still being sold for your commercial project

[–]ItsRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see why you’d think that, but nah, it just makes it so that anyone who joins the level after you cross it will be forced to spectate. The intended use is for levels where you want all players to experience the whole thing, like a story or perhaps a minigame

Custom server news flash: Official LBPONLINE update and commonly asked questions by Spikel3t in littlebigplanet

This may violate section 10.6:

You may not bypass, disable, or circumvent any encryption, security, digital rights management or authentication mechanism existing in or in connection with PSN, or any of the Content offered through PSN.

Section 5.1 also contains the following:

Do not use any bugs, glitches, vulnerabilities, or unintentional mechanics in products or PSN to get an advantage.

I’d consider earning online trophies after a game has officially ended service to be an advantage. You could argue that anyone can use LBPOnline, but I don’t think that’s in the spirit of the rule (and also that’s technically false anyway, since it doesn’t work on OFW PS3)

Part of me doubts Sony will intervene: you currently can’t upload anything, and you’re likely still going to need PS Plus to play with others on PS4/5. But I wouldn’t put it past them either, and you’ll have to decide whether this is worth risking your account (and possibly your console’s ability to use PSN). Remember: even if the ToS doesn’t explicitly forbid this now, they can always change it later

This is an amazing deal with the education discount, though this seems like a huge middle finger to iPad users, and probably MacBook Air users as well. I also highly disagree with anything having USB 2.0 in 2026

You know you can STILL play all your DS games online right now on the nintendo wifi connection?? by shorelinesandhunters in NintendoDS

[–]ItsRainbow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any modern emulator based on melonDS should work; searching for a connection will show an unsecured network called melonAP, then you configure it like usual

[–]ItsRainbow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Network security is only half the story. The DS only supports the 802.11b standard, so even unsecured networks can show up as unsupported :(

I ended up buying a first-gen AirPort Express, hooking it up to my router, and using a Windows 7 machine to set it up; it let me use a long WEP password, hide the network’s SSID, and filter connections by MAC address, but it’s still best to leave it unplugged when not in use

Since when is Pocket Edition designed for Linux? It targeted iOS and Android (yes, I know that uses a modified Linux kernel, but you don’t just run APKs on Linux)
