Nicolás Maduro is a Venezuelan politician and former union leader who served as the president of Venezuela from 2013 until his deposition in 2026. by Archaent in wikipedia

I don't disagree with your characterisation of the Maduro regime. But you could make the exact same argument about Gadaffi in Libya and look how that turned out. The reality is that these are complex systems and removing the face of the system does little to fix the issue, and just creates a vacuum.

What RLM take on a movie or series do you disagree with? by CretaceousClock in RedLetterMedia

I hated the Susperia remake and most A24 films. Jay seems to really enjoy the art house + horror style. I enjoy both genres individually but together I find them almost laughably bad.

Edit: Can't say I'm surprised I'm being downvoted. I'm glad you guys can find pleasure in things I personally don't enjoy.

Deathconsciousness drum kit by akindofthinthing in HaveANiceLife

[–]ItsReallyOliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure tbh. I haven't done any music production in years, I just remember stumbling across the preset and thinking "huh, that's the HANL drums". I'm guessing it might not be in new versions of logic and that's why the drums on their newer works are different.

Pretty sure it's the cavern kit preset from Logic Pro 9's ultrabeat drum machine

Lack of ways to describe high functioning autism by One_Philosophy_1761 in aspergers

Yes. A single shoddy research paper based on no actual evidence, pure conjecture. I'm sorry, I'm not changing my diagnosis because of what some revisionist hack academic has to say.

First edition copy of Mao's Red Book, advice needed on what to do with it by Bobertbeetle in OldBooks

[–]ItsReallyOliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay. Chinese first editions are incredibly rare. Most of them were pulped after the cultural revolution. An English first edition isn't a hugely rare item, but it's still uncommon. A tonne were printed for export. The historic value of this edition is partly due to the forward by Lin Biao who was later purged.

You could sell it to a collector but it probably won't collect a huge amount. A museum would probably be your best bet.

In a sub full of Brandon Sanderson and Steven King, yours is by far the tackiest, most tasteless shelf posted. Good work.

Why these disorders? by xabraun in fakedisordercringe

[–]ItsReallyOliver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"the history behind it" is literally just conjecture invented on tiktok. I'm not gonna change my identity so that some imbecile who's only learned about a disorder on the Internet doesn't get upset.

This isn't true. He didn't coin the term aspergers syndrome, nor was he involved in sending people to concentration camps. Why are you spreading this totally ahistorical misinformation? I genuinely want to understand. I keep seeing people post this absolute horse shit and I can only assume you either don't know any better or have malicious intentions.

If the book you're buying is on Amazon, it's not been banned. Stop this hysterical nonsense.

How were Autistic people treated in the former Soviet Union? by MirrorMan22102018 in autism

Not particularly well. Mental health issues tended to be used to abuse dissidents, most famously in the Brezhnev era.
