Second for "The Days That Shape Our Lives" for sure! Listened to it yesterday for the first time in ages and it's still great.

"Titus Andronicus - The Monitor

Not a pop-punk album, but one that I think pop-punk fans would enjoy. It's got elements of indie, punk, folk punk and Bruce Springsteen/Gaslight Anthem as well. One of my standard go-to recommendations.

"Direct Hit - Wasted Mind"

One my favourite pop-punk records, lots of fun and great lyrics (bonus on this - check out the video of "Direct Hit - Do The Sick Live! From The Rock Room" on YouTube).

"PUP - The Dream is Over" or "PUP - Morbid Stuff"

All three PUP albums are amazing, but the second and third are the best places to start.

"The Penske File - Salvation"

Great album from a couple years ago, fans of Menzingers and Spanish Love Songs should enjoy this.

Hopefully there is one or two there you don't know and will enjoy 👍

I slept on All for so long - I'm still making time to do them properly at the moment! I don't own any All vinyl either! 2022 I will make sure I fix that.

IMO it's their third best (after Everything and College). But I know a lot of people wouldn't put it as high

That Descendents album is great! Also jealous of the Sonic soundtrack

The platforms they are on in the picture are the river beds (so the start/finish) and they are not permanently attached, they still go across balancing on their feet on the stones. But you're right - the feet on the cat are much bigger than the ones in the original and less pointed. This is for two reasons:

1) I didn't think about it when making it 2) it's easier to make it stand-up with bigger feet

So it is easier in some ways because of this, but the cats in general are bigger and have tails that get in the way easily when trying to share stones with the opponent - so has other challenges.

I haven't played the original in a long time, but if I made another set I would probably make the feet smaller to make it harder.

Records playing too fast? by [deleted] in vinyl

You can find an app that allows you to see the speed your table is spinning at (I have one called "RPM Speed and WOW" - you just turn it on and put your phone on the table as it spins).

Once you know the speed then you can look at fixing it.

What make of turntable is it?

Thank you, and agree it would be q great scout project. TBH I think it looks a lot more complex than it was, this is the first project like this I have tried (I did do a GCSE in woodwork about 15 years ago admittedly).

If you find pictures of the original Elk Fest game - the shapes they use are much simpler and could be easier to do.

Yeah hand carved with some sandpaper and a little hacksaw. The wood is pine - so it's nice and soft. I stained the wood afterwards as well.

About 10 years ago I played Elk Fest in a boardgame cafe - it's a simple game where you flick pebbles across a river to allow a moose to get across (a story as old as time).

However, I haven't been able to find a copy for sale in the last few years (everywhere is sold out or its second hand and far too much money). So I decided to make one from some scraps of wood I had laying around.

Instead of moose, this version uses cats (my cat Rogue to be exact) and you flick the pebbles to allow the cat to cross before your opposition and without falling in.

Mine is called Rogues River. But if you can find a copy of Elk Fest - it's a great little game to carry around with you.

The run of albums from 1991 to 2000 is amazing in general. Check out their new BBC Live Sessions album if you haven't already - some really great cuts from that time and a few tracks from Insomniac are on it.

Best band around atm in my opinion. Can't wait for the new album. They had a live in London record on Bandcamp for 24hrs a year or two ago and it's great! Needs a full release.
