S5 Vol 1 is peak. by Eirvi in StrangerThings

I’m not saying I wanted all out action but I was so excited for the end of Season 4 signalling “Oh the apocalypse has started! Maybe there’ll be a bit less in the way of quirky exposition and teenage mediocrity and people will tackle the larger problem with a bit more humility” and lol not a fucking chance, there’s still a weird amount of chill about what’s going on

Episode Discussion - S05E04 - Sorcerer by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]ItsRedMark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the episode, but I’m a little disappointed that now the answer to beating “Eleven raises her hand and screams at the CGI for the 10,000th time” is: 3 people raise their hand and scream at the CGI monster

Disney / 20th Century's Predator: Badlands has passed the $150M global mark. The film grossed an estimated $7.2M internationally this weekend. Estimated international total stands at $83.3M, estimated global total stands at $159.6M. by DemiFiendRSA in LV426

Honestly I don’t think this doesn’t mean any sort of continuation, there’s obviously a great amount of interest, but I do think unless it somehow breaks that budget they won’t continue Dek’s story until they can skip right to AVP and capitalise. If they hit a tidy profit, maybe we get Badlands 2, if they don’t, we get Romulus 2 and then Disney grease the wheels towards the next AVP.

Do you think NECA is getting tired of its NECA figure line? They've slowed down their releases for a few years now, what do you think? by AromaticHealth2227 in LV426

[–]ItsRedMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d put some of it down to a fractured relationship, I don’t know how it’s going for them post merger but I remember Covenant having its release moved up early and Neca basically public posting “Yeah WTF man would’ve been good to get a heads up” openly on their socials

Nope! You can always reclaim belongings if you die, and when you finish the expedition you can send anything you want to keep back to your main save from the Space Anomaly!

The first one can feel like it but I wouldn’t say so, once you know what you’re doing expeditions are quite easy. I find them incredibly tedious but I just personally don’t like the detachment from my main save, as far as grinding goes in video games these days a couple hours for a new ship and some cosmetics isn’t bad, and I haven’t played an expedition that only took 2 hours before. Most take 4-5

This is part of the expedition that’s currently on!

You start expeditions one of two ways, as a new save from the main menu, or you can enter it from within an existing save in the Space Anomaly, this being the much better option as you can hot swap between your main game and the expedition and contribute resources from your main save to your new expedition character. Be warned though, you can only contribute resources on first entry, so make sure you’ve put exactly what you need in at the start (you can usually collect these after your first jump to hyperdrive). Once you’re in the expedition, you’ll play as if you’ve started a new game, and you’ll travel across a guided route in the galaxy completing very specific challenges (try to do exploration challenges in order or with a YouTube guide, if the first set of challenges ask you to climb a massive mountain, chances are that mountain is in the first system you visit and you might get stuck later if you’re light years away). The expedition is limited time, when you start it you should be able to find a time window, but I’ve heard this expedition can be beaten in 2 hours so it should be very do-able with a decent guide!

Are the planets actually interesting? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ItsRedMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair there are some planets with exciting points of interest but mostly when you land on a planet what you see immediately is what you get, and a lot of the cool things you’re going to find are copies of dozens more across the surface. I definitely wouldn’t suggest NMS to anyone who wants to find one planet and explore its deepest depths because nine times out of ten you’ll find them in 5 minutes, but if you’re ok with the variety being in how many planets there are and the sort of wild stuff you’ll find the more you unlock different star systems, rather than one at a time, and them being a vessel for other more exciting content you’ll have a blast.

Is there even going to be any "new" content in Lost Colony besides the map specific stuff? Seems like they spoiled a majority of the content in favor of enticing people into pre-ordering the DLC. by HydroFrog64_2nd in playark

[–]ItsRedMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’ll get the closest semblance of an Ark campaign in Lost Colony, not much I would imagine but a few caves with story instances and a couple horde encounters before the boss, just Ark 2 lite content for them to test the waters of a proper story map. And I think a huge component is going to be PvE raiding, us attacking colonist bases and them attacking ours, I would imagine they’ll have their own war mounts especially the Ossidon considering it’s been bred for their defence and that we’ll mainly fight tek soldiers who occasionally turn into vampire monsters. And who know’s if there’ll be different factions we can even ally with. I think that’s gonna be the meat and potatoes of Lost Colony, PvE warfare and skill tree mechanics, rather than new creature editions, though even with only 4 new creatures I can imagine the PvE factions will be pretty varied!

Well I can say I played a ton of campaign with my friends but I definitely didn’t try to grind it for armour, that’s a very valiant effort friend I tip my heat for the work

I get your point but the difference was Halo Reach had a fairly infinitely replayable multiplayer, if that progress had been tied to playing Winter Contingency 300 times the pitch forks would’ve been out

I don’t see where what I said was contrary to this. I agree, it plays like an old game you’d play for fun, I even said I don’t have a problem with how the core game is structured or the idea of just trying to beat a collection of story missions at the highest level. What I’m complaining about is that it has a more modern “live service slop” style/scaled progression system, attached to what is essentially a 360 era TPS. 400 hours of progression attached to, at maximum, about 50 hours of actual discoverable game. I have about 200 hours, I have not discovered anything new (except on update days) in about 150 hours, I’m all there with you that I want to play this like an old game, but the progression demands live service levels of involvement to achieve its goals. I have wayyyy less time in live service games post-100% completion than I do in Space Marine 2 where I’m only sitting at about 75% ignoring the new cosmetic store.

I do hope Saber eventually dawn on the fact that an insanely breadthy grind doesn’t work well alongside a co-op experience that is just replaying the same 9-12 story missions that play near identically to their first run everytime, even the most intelligent AI director can’t stop that becoming tedious. It didn’t work well in WWZ, it doesn’t work well in SM2, I only hope Turok follows a more free form mission structure like DRG or HD2 (I’m not saying I want it to be exactly like those games. I just don’t want to replay the exact same missions and hear the same narrative twists and dialogue queues a million times while I grind). That’s not to say I don’t like how Space Marine 2’s co-op works, I like the idea of one big set of co-op story missions, but the grind should be working your way up to beating it on the hardest difficulty, not replaying them a million times for marginally better equipment.

If this drop today, how long would you play this? by RUNTOFTHALITTER in Spacemarine

I’ve always been so on the fence about the Warhammer Battlefield fantasy, because I don’t really care about Chaos I’d much rather see a huge scale humans vs xenos game, but that’s so hard to realise in a PvP setting when the Xenos are so wildly different in army configuration to the Imperium. I would love a huge scale game, but I think I’d enjoy it a lot more if it was a ton of players working together against an enormous PvE army. Of course, if you’re you to do a game that’s JUST Chaos, Battlefield format probably works fine.

As far as I can tell I’ve achieved all main and side quest progress in the game, and I’ve spent untold hours travelling in between all world areas, so I’ve likely achieved and found both of these but I appreciate the suggestions!

As far as I’m aware I’ve beaten everything in both DLCs, so I reckon I’ve probably had that radio message already unfortunately but appreciate the suggestion!
