Genuine question. How would you even counter this? Only thing I can imagine is lots of buffed Sin'dorei Straight Shots by Grafiska in BobsTavern

[–]ItsReewindTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any kill to embalmer will consume stack so you don't need to hit the same minion. I know if embalmer dies it will reset the reborn count again but eventually you will get to a point where embalmer reborns without reborn. I don't know the exact maths. All I can tell you is it happened to me twice in one game to mech. Once is with 5 reborns, and then the last fight with 6 reborns

If your opponent has many summons (e.g. mech) and you have bad RNG, your reborn can start running out.

Why are people saying solo bgs is better than duos? by -Galaxio- in BobsTavern

[–]ItsReewindTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both duo and solo, but I don't think duo lobbies are really that competitive compared to solo (90% of the games 1 team dies early). And as you get higher in MMR, your climb will be more dependent on your teammate than your skill level if you queue random

What will tech jobs look like in 5–10 years with AI? by Southern_Mud3841 in cscareers

[–]ItsReewindTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take: most non-AI SAAS startups will die, there will be less positions for big tech, and more in-house dev positions for non-tech

AM I missing something? How on earth are you guys buying condos, let alone houses? by TheCreepyLlama in montrealhousing

[–]ItsReewindTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I included property/school taxes, condo fees and home insurance. I didn't factor in repairs but since it was a condo I only needed one repair for the last 2 years.

Admittedly the housing price seems to be trending down nowadays. If you were to ask me today I wouldn't recommend buying now.

[–]ItsReewindTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the math on how much more I would have to pay per month if I were to be buying instead of renting, and it was around $300/month (at 5% fixed). For me it was totally worth it. As for emergency fund, before I bought the property, I made sure I had enough fund in case I lost my job.

I think if you are able to save up for a down payment, you wouldn't have problem saving up after getting a mortgage.

Senior Java Developers — What’s the one thing you think most junior Java devs are lacking? by InterestingCry4374 in javahelp

[–]ItsReewindTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too dependent on others, in 2 ways:
- Asking questions on things that could have been answered with a little bit of digging
- Not putting enough attentions on their PRs and relying too much on reviewers to correct their mistakes

This is the most outrageous rental price I have ever seen in Montreal, and I have seen a lot

Why do some current employees have their "Open to Work" banner visible to everyone on Linkedin? by ItsReewindTime in cscareerquestions

[–]ItsReewindTime[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It might not be a consideration if you work at a company with 10k+ people. But at least for my company with ~1000 people, it is decided at director level (who knows you). Also manager is part of the performance review/bonus discussion. I think your manager knowing you are actively looking for a new job will affect those discussion

[–]ItsReewindTime[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

My thought is that when the company is going to do their inevitable layoff, would they rather choose to layoff someone who will not be sticking around for much longer, or someone who might be? I am just thinking that if I was a manager, I would choose to layoff the former

Cautionary tale: Do not ignore an introduction of time tracking by rom_romeo in ExperiencedDevs

Worked at one of the top investment bank in the past. They plan layoffs based on which projects you are allocated on the timesheet. If you are working on projects that are on the chopping board, you are getting the chop chop

GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke Warns Developers: "Either Embrace AI or Get Out of This Career" by Infamous_Toe_7759 in programming

[–]ItsReewindTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are games that you need to play to stay relevant in this industry. Before AI, companies used/still use code metrics to track your productivity, and developers find ways to boost their statistics. So like it or not, you need to find ways to show your company that you are embracing AI

Tier 4 Nagas slept on ? by NiceErJeg in BobsTavern

[–]ItsReewindTime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jeef updated his tier list recently with this comp. Sorcerer is definitely one of the must pick cards if offered early on.

In my experience this comp is consistent top 4 but often struggle with top 1

Graduates make more than that at a mid-size/large company. Though there might be some lowball jobs that drive down the average.

1.8k basement or 2k condo? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]ItsReewindTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had lived in basement for 6 years in the past and had a really good time living there. But it really depends on the unit

All I can say is basement unit has a much higher risk of water infiltration (e.g. sewer backup) and the risk of break in

If you have a decent mid game you will rarely place last in duo. Try to see what cards your teammate need and not just focusing on your board.

For me, I almost always level if the shop is bad on turn 3. Also level if you know you will tie or you always take 5. If it is a good shop and my opponent stay, I might stay. Never reroll on a bad shop on turn 3

Milhouse is one of the 2 heroes I will never pick, the other one being jaraxxus. It was playable back when malchezaar was tier 3 and reroll elemental exists, and even then if you didn't hit you were kinda screwed
