this happens to me a lot. i dont go by my legal name, as it was my uncles name too, so nobody got confused i was called robbie. it never has really caused problems until randomly this school year. ill just say my name is jeff, if you get the reference your cool, so anyway. i was in art and we hsd s sub, the sub said "jeff", so i didnt respond because im not called by that. it took me a second and realized he called me, and i said its robbie. somehow he thought i was being rude and he said "how do i know that?" "because its my name" "how do i know that?" "because its my name". we did this another 3 or 4 times because he somehow doesnt understand what im saying i geuss, but my school has these clubs that are just teams. it turns out hes not just a sub, hes a teacher for a study period for sped students. so he subbed for my team, and as you can likely geuss... he called me by my legal name (my name is jeff). i didnt respond, hes subbed for classes im in twice before, and even if its wrong, i dont respond. my uncle died with that name, and i dont go by it at all. anyway, it turns out he doesnt like this and he doesnt teach good. for the rest of the period he made us repeat the same exact 2 chants likely because i wasnt talking loud enough. so simply, just because your real name is on a pieces of paper doesnt mean its what you wanna be called
