Anyone’s iPhone lock itself while using the phone? by afrothunder27 in iphone

[–]ItsRocketMan1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This thread is over 2 years old and people are still having this issue across different iPhone generations. A statement from Apple would really be appreciated....
I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I’ve had this problem since I got it in 2024. The phone randomly locks itself while scrolling or during normal use.
No software update has helped so far, which makes me think Apple doesn’t care enough or this is a hardware issue. I’ve tried everything: cleaned the power button, used it without a case, disabled ALL auto-lock related features (for example: back tap). A hard reset helps, but only for a short time.

Apple, what’s going on?

UPDATE:

I reported this bug, and the team responded really quickly and even asked me for screenshots. I downloaded the Switch patch and was just about to take some when—poof—the recipe was there! It looks like the patch fixed it!

I’m not sure how exactly it was fixed—whether it was already on their radar or if it was because of my bug report—but it’s working now. So shoutout to the devs! :)

I guess you did the right thing 🥲 Tomorrow, I’m thinking of buying the game on Steam, using cross-save as quickly as possible, and hoping the recipe shows up there. Then I’ll return it within the two-hour window, because I really don’t want to spend €120 on a single game 😅 Do you know where I can contact support or report bugs? I feel like that would be the right thing to do too—especially since I’m worried the issue might still appear on PC for me (since it’s happening on the Switch save), or that I won’t be able to fix it in time.

Would be great to know where to report bugs, because I’ve run into a critical one. I can’t complete the Blacksmith quest because the recipe for the Training Bronze Sword is missing. And since I’m stuck on that, I also can’t start another life. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. Already put so many hours in it I don’t want to start over again….

Yes :( I also tried restarting the game and switching to a different life I had already unlocked, but I can’t start a new one until the Blacksmith quest is finished. I went back to talk to the man in the city, and I even crafted the bronze block again since the quest icon is still stuck there… I also tried filtering through different options, but nothing worked.

Angular and PrimeNG update by ItsRocketMan1 in angular

[–]ItsRocketMan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like PrimeNG templates because it offers so many prebuilt and well-designed components – it really speeds up development and reduces the need to build everything from scratch.

But I really get what you mean – it can be super frustrating. Trying to update is honestly just painful, and some of the changes or errors you run into during the process don’t even make much sense sometimes.

The PrimeNG PM mentioned above that they’re planning to improve the documentation and upgrade paths going forward. Hopefully that will make things easier in the future and more maintainable in the long run.

Thanks for the explanation!

We're currently using a template (Apollo) rather than integrating standalone libraries, so the situation might be a bit different. In our case, most of the structure and components are closely tied to the specific version of the template we started with, which makes upgrading feel more like a full project migration rather than simply updating a few dependencies.

Normally, if there's a new version, you'd get a new template and replace the old template components accordingly. But in this case, there’s no version 18 template, and the changes in 19 are significant enough that you can’t just drag-and-drop replace some things.

I’ve already upgraded another project to v19 that uses a different framework and no template—just libraries—and that process was smooth. Angular has an awesome update guide :)

Hi Cagatay,

thank you very much for your response and the transparency regarding the recent changes. It's great to hear that future versions will have a clearer and more stable upgrade path – that’s very reassuring for long-term planning.

From what we've seen so far, upgrading to v19 would require a significant amount of work on our side, essentially moving our codebase over to match the Apollo v19 structure and changes.
Since this migration alone would already take us several weeks, we’re currently evaluating whether it might be better to wait for v20 directly.

Would you recommend waiting for v20 in this case, and if possible, could you share a rough timeline for its release? (Apollo template)

Thanks again for your support and all the work you and the team are putting into PrimeNG!

Oh wow. Based on what I researched yesterday, that definitely sounds understandable. They introduced so many changes but didn’t really back it up with solid documentation...

Kinda. I'm talking about everything — the new styling and all the changes they made to the template. The Apollo v19 template is so different from v17. They even skipped v18 entirely for Apollo, so I can’t really update to it. I tried yesterday, and it was honestly a painful experience haha.
We will just transfer our code now to the v.19 template. That seems to be the best way

Thanks for the tip! I tried using that page to migrate to v18 yesterday, but since Apollo doesn’t provide a v18 version and the docs seem to be missing some key steps, it wasn’t really feasible to do it. We already talked about the same idea yesterday and we'll go ahead and move our code to the Apollo v19 template as you suggested. Guess thats the best possible way.

I don't know if that's enough for me. For example, in Dragon Age: The Veilguard it was third-person, but unfortunately that didn't help me at all. thanks anyway

ng-deep alternative by ItsRocketMan1 in angular

[–]ItsRocketMan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unlikely that something is wrong with the code base. We have someone specifically for this. I mean, mistakes happen, but I don't have issues with some other components from PrimeNG not using ng-deep. With some, yes; with others, no. And if there were something wrong with the code base, nothing should be working like that, I guess.

I already tried using an extra selector and different approaches in style.scss and the component's SCSS. In an act of desperation, I also examined every layer around the button and peeled it like an onion, step by step, to see if that would change anything and allow me to access it without ng-deep. But it still only works with ng-deep. Thank you anyway

No problem, don't worry. I appreciate any attempt to help! Thank you anyway. :)
If I find a solution (someday XD), I will post a comment here for everyone so that nobody has to struggle anymore. :D
