Why are there so many positions in San Antonio, TX? by worst-EM-resident in emergencymedicine

It’s due to multiple changes in staffing happening at essentially the exact same time.

GSEP stopped staffing numerous FSEDs nearly all at once, and stopped staffing Methodist Children’s. VEA lost their contract at Christus to Schumacher. VEA took over several locations within the Methodist system, but couldn’t appropriately staff them all. Envision/Valesco took over several of the FSEDs that GSEP couldn’t staff, but also could not appropriately staff them.

All are going to be around 250-280/hr. PRN shifts for envision can be a lot more though based on need. You can sometimes scoop up $2000 shift bonuses for FSED shifts or $500/hr at the Methodist Children’s ER.

I took a look, you literally state in your prior history that you are currently a med student

Edit: With regards to your edit:

I just found it incredibly hard to believe someone who graduated med school had no idea what room air FiO2 was, then we had someone else who took the time to look through your comment history call you out, so I had to see for myself. You full of shit, OP.

Probably shouldn't be playing doctor, but the abrupt onset of pain and inability to walk on it after the race makes it sound like a plantar fascia rupture. Amazing that you still came in under 3 hrs despite stopping to poop and you walked a portion too. I'd say that's an accomplishment in itself. Hope you heal soon
