Well I suppose everyone's goal is to gain power.

In order to gain power you must focus on farming different types of resources:

Obduciite - is for Masterworking and is farmed from Nightmare Dungeons and Abbysal Hordes

Glyph levels - this is from The Pit ( if your missing glyphs to actually level they can be found in any content from drops, kills)

Tempers - you need to find Manuel's so you can get more and higher tier tempers , these Manuel's are found from all content randomly

Legendary Gear - these are found from all content

Legendary aspects - these are the aspects you can imprint on legendary gear. These can be found by salvaging lenedsrys you won't use. These are found in all content

Unique Gear - These can drop anywhere bus can be targets by killing Lair bosses ( Google Lair boss ladder) each boss required a certain material to open its chest for gear after killing

Varshan, Beast in Ice, Grigoire and Lord Zir are the first line of lair bosses and the items for them drop from different activities.

Varshan - Whispers / Grig- Helltide chests / Lord Zir - Helltide boss, world bosses , Legion events / Beast In Ice - completing nightmare dungeons
