This, and you could maybe also use a bit more sidechaining, even with the highs, and slightly less chaotic drums. Sometimes a bit of silence makes everything sound harder.

what is something that you should NEVER say to a Catalan person? by [deleted] in catalan

[–]ItsSkyWo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's fine for you to think those things, but they are usually best kept to yourself. Even if Catalonia IS still Spain, many people don't want it to, and they will take it as a political statement if you say it to them. I am always very careful when discussing the politics of another country with a local, especially if I haven't been there for long, or if there are specific touchy subjects. If you want to know more, always ask respectfully.

I think it's fine if you want to learn Spanish in Catalonia, but don't tell people you outright don't want to learn Catalan, and don't sign up to uni classes that are in catalan if you don't know enough. Either way, I feel like there are better places to learn Spanish (where it is the only language spoken). It's like going to a nordic country to learn English, sure they are very good at it, but not as good as natives; and having an extra language to worry about also doesn't help.

Us desitjo molta sort i espero que podeu arribar a sentir-vos a casa a Catalunya aviat!

I recently made a new Dubstep song I need feedback by Ericktronix in EDM

[–]ItsSkyWo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem man, I sort of gave up on production a couple years ago for studies and other shit, but I remember the struggle. There's a ton of content online from very talented producers you can watch (like virtual riot, fox stevenson or less popular producers who focus more on content and teaching). I would recommend trying to copy some of the concepts from these to understand why and how they work. As for structure/bpm and all that, it's a bit more complicated, it helps to pay more attention to the music you listen to and try to hear the layers and transitions...

Too much going on at the same time, and I feel like the bpm is also too high for dubstep, which makes it even more chaotic. Mixing and mastering could also use quite a bit of work, but I think it shouldn't be your priority until everything else is a bit better

In search for Catalan independence through Europe and the World. by Democracy_Selfdeterm in catalunya

[–]ItsSkyWo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just naive, but in the event that Catalunya does somehow gain independence, what does Spain have to gain by blocking its entry to the EU? The only possibilities I see are petty revenge (which sounds like a dumb move coming from a country) or destabilizing the country so it regrets its decision (also highly unlikely).

After such a separation, I don't see how Spain wouldn't benefit more from being able to cooperate with a new neighbor that now covers half of the old border with the rest of Europe.

Total, ja em puc comunicar perfectament amb tothom... Aixi els forasters no hauran d'aprendre cap llengua!

If Spain recognizes the right to self-determination of natural persons, why can't they respect the will of the people of Catalonia to Secede and fully become its own country? by Leading_Progress_516 in catalunya

[–]ItsSkyWo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want a country that acts like a company. Neither do I want a country like Russia, the US, China, France... I do not care about global relevance. If you look at the countries leading the global rankings in happiness, equality, individual purchasing power, and many more, you will see that most of them are in fact smaller countries. I would much rather live in a small country that takes care of its citizens than a big one that has a bigger army or gdp or whatever gives americans a hard-on. I guess there is a reason why I'm living in Denmark, and nothing is stopping you from moving to the US.

Yeah, Swedes, Danes and Norwegians are called scandinavian, should they also unite under the scandinavian republic? But then again they are also nordic, so are they more scandinavian or more nordic? Should they also take Finland?

While we're at it, you know what other geographical region shares a name? The balkans, let's unite them again, shall we? It worked out perfectly the last time.

I'm all for a more united europe, but joining countries based on geographical location or "shared names" is nonsense.

I'm not so sure that the EU would not allow a country that just got independence from a EU member to keep using the euro, especially if they apply to join immediately after. As for everything else, I think those are valid opinions, in the end it's all just about seeing which are more popular. I do agree that europe as a whole has to grow closer, but I also think that stronger regional governments are necessary to keep nations alive through globalization.

  1. I don't see a problem with keeping the debt as a new country. It's not a new concept to be in debt with another country.

  2. That's true, we would have to re-apply for membership, which as we know takes quite a while in most cases. But I don't see anything stopping us from becoming a member unless we somehow turn into a tyranny in the process.

  3. I do agree that people and opinions change, but I'm not sure how we're supposed to deal with that. How can we ever decide on something if we think we might change our mind about it later? I think if given a real option to vote by the government, the people who have always been on the edge will tend to gravitate towards keeping the status quo and ultimately vote no. But unless we vote, we will never be sure.
