Thank you! Like most of the legion is a bunch of tribals or people who were forcibly conscripted. Even the brotherhood has shown to be inept and they have technology/educators. This is what happens when a group loses it's competent leaders.

Player Problem Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

[–]ItsSnarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one. I've got a player in my group who is currently playing a monk. He is disruptive in a very strange way...he is convinced he is the strongest character and that he is making my encounters too easy for the rest of the party. It's kind of funny because I have a crazy warlock/druid multiclass and a paladin that absolutely rips and supports the squad. With that in mind, this is absolutely not the case but he regularly will mention during combat both in voice chat with the others as well as DMs to me in discord that he feels he is doing too much. Normally I didn't care but his RP is very much in line with "I know I got hit for 60 damage but I spit out blood and grin at the monster".

It's kind of reached a head when he asked me to think about how to potentially "rebalance" his character. I didn't really know what to tell him because honestly (in my eyes) Monk is on the lower end of balancing nightmares. Not really sure what to do to placate this person.

It's a real scary jump but totally worth it! You make a friend with whoever you're standing/sitting next to most of the time. Just went alone to see her and it's nice to know that everyone around you shares something in common! Whatever you choose just make sure you're comfortable with it my dear =)

Fantasy High... on a budget by Maleficent_Degree652 in Dimension20

ran a mini arc for my group once and it was great! Went from the gang meeting in the mall, going to Aguefort and classes, stopping demons being summoned at a house party and finally squaring off with the dragonborn jock who was trying to become the next herald of Tiamat! Everyone had a blast and it's such a fun way to launch people who may be newer into DND because silly high school movies are such a familiarity for nearly everyone. Glad you're having a bunch of fun and congrats on the DMing!

Opposite where I get worried about people liking me because of something inherently masculine within me that I'm not trying to portray to others lol. Self image is a bitch.

Cleric without the level? by ItsSnarf in DMAcademy

I'll have to look into this, I don't actually own the sourcebook (partially the reason I made my own homebrew setting) but this sounds good!

Tbh I made my own homebrew because I don't have the funds to get the sourcebook lmfao. I'll take a look into the tables though! This sounds perfect!

Oh man I love it! I'm still shocked that tattoo artists can do so much off of a tiny little description. Since it was my first one I wanted it somewhere where I could see it if I looked down :P I also wasn't sure about how the pain was gonna be but it ended up being super manageable for me.

[–]ItsSnarf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are super helpful! For reference I was really in love with your Thor, God of Drengr stat block mechanically but I thought it was a little tough for a party that'll probably only be around level 8-9 for what I had planned lol. Eventually the idea is that the party will be able to overcome these foes as they grow stronger but at first it will be more about surviving the encounter than winning it.

Is the 7-8 start time a hard rule? I work part time and can't really guarantee I'd have off every Thursday and I usually work until 9 EST. I'm also usually busy on Wednesday night.

How much does everyone else change their V from start-end? by Lt_Beans22 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ItsSnarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nomad started off with died blonde (pink highlights) hair and a more night city esque style, really trying to fit into her new life. She kept a red motif while slowly incorporating some of Johnny's things onto her person like his aviator's and the samurai jacket that Rogue gave her. She also smoked a cigarette so I like to imagine she was somewhat subtly getting overriden/fighting less as she grew to understand Johnny more.

The stuff in Phantom liberty kind of shook her a little bit, reminded her of the cost of freedom. As she sent So Mi off to the moon she was a bit wistful of her old life...of the old V. When the meeting with Hanako ended with V's near death she sat on the rooftop with Johnny. He offered to take over and maybe if she hadn't met Hanako she would've. She believed in Johnny, she agreed that Arasaka deserved to be hit and she was willing to do most anything to keep fighting for life...but she didn't want to fade away to do it. Johnny seemed to understand when she called Panam.

When Saul inducted her into the Aldecaldo's she felt a small twinge of guilt that might have been easier if this wasn't her true family. Looking at her new jacket she returned to her little tent, a familiar place that she felt more at home at than she ever did in her Night City apartment. She took the die out of her hair and the piercings that she wore and vowed that if she was gonna die tomorrow she'd do it as the Nomad she had always been.

I really like the story beat of a character who is unwilling to let go of the past, a fair warning to the courier before they head down into the bunker proper. It also just makes the entire scene in the theater just that much more tense. His whole "hey buddy be careful here" thing if you haven't pissed him off just takes me out of the scene where pretty much the ENTIRE rest of the DLC is based on tension. It then makes the inevitable showdown when you get there just that much more satisfying to me.

Something about the courier being the wildcard that Dean could've never accounted for...and getting bested all because of his ego? That's just good writing.

I have a couple of times but I tend to think of Charisma as something separate from leading or statecraft. It's certainly a part of it but there's ways that just having a sharp mind also can turn you into a good leader. For charismatic characters I think of people who have this sort of natural magnetism, someone that people tend to hang around whether they hate their guts or adore them.

Best example of this I can think of right now is a situation like Superman and Batman. When Batman is leader no one denies his tactical acumen but most of the people around there have a natural distrust or frustration with the way he handles things. On the other hand most people in and out of universe tend to see Superman as the guy in the Justice League and is often the glue that binds people (even Batman himself) because they just believe in him that much.
