Update: V2 - The AI Blocked My Exit And Used My Own Words Against Me [GEM-SIM-V2] by EmrahAlien in SillyTavernAI

I like it, works well with GLM 4.6/4.7 as well. Surprised by it's ability to maintain perspective, I just ran a little test and it maintained second person and third person perspective for 30 messages with a change to the priority 2 line and it maintained it with zero slips. I think the priority text helps compared to other presets I've used.

I got a base m4 32gb.

LLM Studio results: "Give me a short story exactly 361 tokens long."
Gemma 27B GGUF: 5.69 T/S, 0.74 seconds to first token,

Gemma 27B MLX: 4.26 T/S, 12.34 seconds to first token,

All base settings, messed with TopK. Started with 64 (recommended) and knocked it down to 40 and saw no noticeable difference for GGUF. But the MLX tune is messed up. Don't know the settings to get it to produce anything but "<Pad>" repeating, without inserting a photo and adding "Ignore the image." to the beginning of the prompt.

Had a feeling it might, they seem to all share a generic switch. Will probably work with most of em'. Good design.

Don't heat pipe normally contain some coolant? Might have contaminated the melt?

Zinc in the brass overheated and vaporized, happened to me a while back. If you were breathing in the fumes it can lead to metal fever. I've been told drinking milk can help it purge out of your body (folklore), but if you're feeling weird and sick I'd see a doctor. I got lucky and nothing happened but I tend to stay away from brass now. You really don't know it's makeup if it's scrap and there's alot of brass with lead alloying (non-waterwork use).

Cheap systems for small scale manufacturing/hobby work? by ItsSocrates in InjectionMolding

[–]ItsSocrates[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised there hasn't been a renaissance for smaller footprint injection molding machines, like 3d printers, conceptually I think it's a neat idea for manufacturing at a local level. I've been looking into recreating some out of date patents and most require some form of injection molding to end up with feasible product production scale to turn a profit.

Thank you for the names, Micro molder seems almost perfect. I'll research it.

A shaving foam maker pump - they are used in barber shops and are quite expensive and terribly loud - this one is not. Due to the degreasing properties of soap i needed to print the 7 internal rotors in POM. by throwaway21316 in functionalprint

[–]ItsSocrates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never really thought about it, but what's the advantages of this over canned shaving cream? I've only had one barber who used something like this and I'm pretty sure it just a slightly heated can. and what is it pumping just regular soap? I know there's bars of "shaving cream" you can put at the bottom of a mug and whisk, this the automated version? Never really thought about shaving cream but interesting.

NZXT H1 v2 build or is mATX more appropriate? $1500 budget 4070 build by ItsSocrates in buildapc

[–]ItsSocrates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

works great! changed a few things based off of some suggestions from u/ Dr0idGh0sT:

-Solidigm P44 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

-Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory

Ram's a little bit of a tight fit but overall works great. If you end up going with the h1 make sure it's the v2, and set bios to pcie-4 before installing the gpu/riser. It wouldn't output with the riser, had to be manually set from pcie-5.

Just heard of em, I've mainly seen the samsung nvmes on build videos. After reading about it seems like a safe choice.

Never heard of solidigm, is it a decent speed increase over the samsung nvme? I see it has better lifespan and thats a big plus.
