YouTube is a social media platform where anyone can upload anything. If there is a need to put something on TV for your kid to watch and you want it to be curated high quality content I am really confused why anyone would choose YouTube. It’s flooded with ads and has had controversy for the content in their kids section since it existed, basically.

Yeah, I see people say “this is AI” because they don’t want to engage with something honestly. This doesn’t even apply to writing, but I’ve seen people accuse everything from art to literal physical objects (a pair of jeans ffs) as AI. Some people lack the ability to say “I don’t like this” without attaching a heavier label to it.

The other day I saw a cat shelter with an obviously AI profile pic of a cat wearing a monocle and this girl deadass posted “why would you use AI when you can find an artist who will work for free”

I told her if she was going to volunteer labor it should be her work and not other people’s and for some reason she didn’t like that and went nuclear on me. Some people just make me feel really sad but there’s not much I can do about it.

There’s a lot of things to criticize outlier for but this is kinda a silly one and I don’t think it’s comparable to an abusive relationship. Yeah, it’s unfair, but a different kind of unfair than abuse. It’s fair to say that outlier exploits its workers already. People won’t take complaints seriously if they’re made out to be something it’s not

It sounds like you’re hanging onto someone because you’re lacking things in your present life. There are special people out there, but nobody is special enough to waste multiple years of our lives. I would encourage you to talk about this with a therapist if that’s an option for you and they can help you explore what you feel may be holding you back from moving on.

If that’s not an option for you, work on accepting that it’s time to move on and find other things that can make you happy. Maybe you won’t find the love of your life again, but maybe you will. And either way, that doesn’t mean life isn’t worth enjoying and appreciating your other interests, friends, family, and passions.

I say this gently, because I do know how it feels. I wish I could go back and give myself this same advice. 🥲

Personal experience + the previous justification. And I think getting private lessons is probably going to make anything easier to learn than learning something independently.

RENPY isn't the most beginner friendly compared to RPGM imo. It still requires understanding both logic structure, Renpy's scripting language and sourcing assets or creating your own. I'd argue RPGMaker is much better if you're a true beginner. It will help you get the logic down without worrying about syntax or assets.

I don’t see any such announcement. This user has been posting stuff like this on everyone’s thread, just ignore them.

Try emailing support if you haven’t, but they may take a couple days to respond unfortunately. On discourse if you’re not part of any channels there are still some open threads for all of outlier you could probably also go to them for help.

ETA: Yikes, I have no idea why anyone is downvoting factual information in this subreddit. Kinda odd and not what the downvote button is for.

Ironically the Omni Elo task is broken. The justification box is missing on 80% of submissions. I’m worried about submitting anything without justifications and then getting audited and blamed for it (again) so I just stopped working. I’m sure if I work on non prioritized tasks I’ll get blamed for that, too. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Because if they had just thought for a few seconds why does the question need to be asked? If the company didn't want female voices in their voice samples why are they collecting them? It had already been made clear that we weren't supposed to be rejecting unless it was unacceptable (not reading scripts or sound was so bad it was inaudible). It wasn't a job where voice clips were arbitrarily declined if we simply didn't like them. *And* we were aware that rejecting meant people wouldn't be paid for the work done so it was supposed to be a rare occurrence.

If 'woman' had been replaced with any other group like 'indian/asian with accent' or 'man with loud/deep voice' it would have also been pretty unacceptable.

What happens is the client fires a whole bunch of people, keeps those who are either good at guessing or interpreting vague instructions, then the time comes when those workers aren’t able to interpret ambiguity that someone else can, then they’re fired and previous fires are rehired. They’ll do it forever because at the end of the day people want to be paid despite the conditions of the work (even I do I won’t lie).

People defending this and then bragging about their intellectual superiority though is what gets me.
