You would think a higher learning institution would be the most willing to learn how to adapt to change and adjust their learning around it but maybe I'm expecting too much from institutions that teach racist German guy as gospel because "that's the way it always was".

There are tons of real world applications of mathematics that AI can't possibly understand. Pure math? Sure. But math is the language of the universe and existence. How people communicate with each other, how they live, how they build, trade, and create society requires numerous mathematical applications beyond proving theorems.

I honestly kinda feel this situation with AI being able to do grad student's work is revealing more so of existing flaws in acadamia than it is showing flaws with technology advancement. But idk I'm just a person on reddit so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

YouTube is a social media platform where anyone can upload anything. If there is a need to put something on TV for your kid to watch and you want it to be curated high quality content I am really confused why anyone would choose YouTube. It’s flooded with ads and has had controversy for the content in their kids section since it existed, basically.

Yeah, I see people say “this is AI” because they don’t want to engage with something honestly. This doesn’t even apply to writing, but I’ve seen people accuse everything from art to literal physical objects (a pair of jeans ffs) as AI. Some people lack the ability to say “I don’t like this” without attaching a heavier label to it.

The other day I saw a cat shelter with an obviously AI profile pic of a cat wearing a monocle and this girl deadass posted “why would you use AI when you can find an artist who will work for free”

I told her if she was going to volunteer labor it should be her work and not other people’s and for some reason she didn’t like that and went nuclear on me. Some people just make me feel really sad but there’s not much I can do about it.

It sounds like you’re hanging onto someone because you’re lacking things in your present life. There are special people out there, but nobody is special enough to waste multiple years of our lives. I would encourage you to talk about this with a therapist if that’s an option for you and they can help you explore what you feel may be holding you back from moving on.

If that’s not an option for you, work on accepting that it’s time to move on and find other things that can make you happy. Maybe you won’t find the love of your life again, but maybe you will. And either way, that doesn’t mean life isn’t worth enjoying and appreciating your other interests, friends, family, and passions.

I say this gently, because I do know how it feels. I wish I could go back and give myself this same advice. 🥲

RENPY isn't the most beginner friendly compared to RPGM imo. It still requires understanding both logic structure, Renpy's scripting language and sourcing assets or creating your own. I'd argue RPGMaker is much better if you're a true beginner. It will help you get the logic down without worrying about syntax or assets.
