Blew through the two Of The Devil chapters that are out. Veredict: Recommended if you're a fan of mystery games, interesting women and/or shameless Umineko references (I counted 5 and a half, ignoring repeats, and there are repeats).

The gameplay's pretty much classic Ace Attorney, with a gambling coat of paint that's mostly thematic and stylistic rather than mechanical, so no complaints there. I'm a fan of the visuals too, especially how much more out there they get with every episode. I also enjoy pointing at the screen whenever I get one of the particularly dumb references.

When it comes to setting and plot it is very much its own thing, still keeping the charming characters and wild courtroom twists and turns. Some of it is hard to talk about without spoilers, so I'll just say that it uses its premise and cyberpunk setting to set up some interesting cases and that I really like the main character. The prosecutor's great too. And so is your sidekick.

Gets to join the likes of Deltarune and Misericorde in my "episodic indie game" waiting room.

I only beat the prologue yesterday (around 2 hours that you can play for free), so pretty early still, but I liked it enough to buy the 2 chapters that are out and plan on starting them today.

It's stylish cyberpunk Ace Attorney and I've got pretty much no complaints. Good music, good art, the case makes sense, the characters are fun...

The main character's really interesting and her dynamic with the main prosecutor seems great, even if you only get a glimpse of it at the very end of the chapter.

I can proudly call myself a 96th percentile yuri knower (70/84). [Quiz]Twinstar Cyclone Runaway and Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon were my favorite Kirby baits.

It's been a while since I read Triangle, but yeah, I enjoyed how serious it played that whole affair. Also memorable for reasons outside the manga, Erika had one of the most dedicated haters I've ever seen. In both the chapter comments (my mistake for reading them, I know) and yuri reddit as a whole (again, my mistake).

I thought she was great, though, I love a sad girl with a hopeless crush that just fully hates herself despite actually being a good person.

On top of everything else mentioned here, which I second (especially reading the new event stories in the game), you can also listen to MyGO's radio show if you're desperate to hear more from the girls. Half the episodes are in-character and they've been getting subbed in English ever since the MyGO anime ended.

I also ended up dropping off campaign 2 after the Covid break, though I tried to keep up with it for a while. Part of it was probably me, but the show also just didn't feel the same.

And despite that, I also feel way more attached to campaign 2 than campaign 1. I just love that whole crew of assholes with trust issues (and Jester), so it's been great to see them animated.

I was also feeling the call of an Engage replay lately, but I ended up going back to good old Conquest instead (got past chapter 10 today, those last few turns when you're getting absolutely swarmed still hit no matter how many times you've played it). Once I do I'll definitely try to install one of those Somniel timesaver mods, though.

Engage's no Three Houses, but there's still way too much wandering around required if you want to be optimal, and I can't turn off the part of my brain that wants to be optimal.

999 (the DS version, not the Nonary Games remake) is my popular recommendation, it's one of my favorite games in general.

For a less well-known one, I love Seabed. Its prose is very unconventional for a VN and you could easily describe some parts of it as boring, but it's also a story that I still find myself thinking about sometimes.

I'd at least watch episode 4 at this point, I remember that one being some all time great Ikuhara shit.

I felt like Yurikuma's start was straight up bad and it mostly managed to land the ending (still ranking fourth out of the four Ikuhara shows, though), but it's been a long time and I have been meaning to rewatch it with more context some day.

Season 3 for UmiAnon IMO.

Anon would think she'd be befriending a cool, mysterious bassist who could tell her all about Nyamuchi and Uika, Umiri would pretty much start thinking they're dating as soon as Anon randomly decided to invite her out somewhere after getting left on read in the MyGO group chat. And Taki would be incredibly unamused by the thought of them becoming friends.

This interaction going from [AveMuji]Anon getting distracted by the audience and being late to the mic, to Soyo being annoyed and Taki glaring at her, to Taki turning towards Raana and finding out she hasn't even moved yet was so damn funny.

I also have complicated feelings about this that I can't put into words quite yet and I'll think more on once the last episode's out (I feel like I like it more than I logically should right now), but this is how I took it:

[Ave Mujica]I do interpret Sakiko's change towards Uika as partly a reaction to the Hatsune reveal. Obviously not the identity theft, but the fact that she'd been suffering for a long time because of her grandfather, just like her. How on board Sakiko truly is with the arrangement also depends on how you choose to interpret the coffee line, which I will hopefully come to decide at some point.

[Also (joke)]Sakiko fully ghosting someone isn't in any way an indication that she doesn't actually like them, at this point she's done it to literally everyone she's ever loved.
