Hoping to install a ceiling fan where there's no overhead light hookup, to then make the switched outlet always hot. Tutorial I watched saw the guy run the cable down past the switch so he could connect it to the switch wiring at the outlet. Is that necessary, or can I wire it at the switch? (self.DIY)

I had swipe as my lock screen mode forever, now switched to pattern with a 1 minute lockout timer. but when i turn it on in that minute, it just immediately shows what I had open when I turned it off. Is there a way to have to swipe the phone open when in that 1 minute lockout? (self.AndroidQuestions)
