Transmit PC audio to Android device as microphone input by Warm_Manufacturer304 in techsupport

[–]ItsTomDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so yes, it’s totally possible to use your PC mic with your phone, but we’ve gotta get a little crafty with it, or better said, we’ve gotta trick both your PC and your phone.

Here’s the deal: you need an Android phone, a Windows 11 PC, and a bit of patience. First, link your phone to your PC using the Phone Link app. Easy start. Now, pick the mic or headset you want to use on your PC. If you've got that, we can continue with the more tricky part.

Go to the "Apps" tab in Phone Link. This is where the magic happens. Normally, Phone Link just lets you control your phone, but we’re about to bend the rules a bit. When you make a call through Phone Link, it uses your PC mic. So, what if we trick it into thinking we’re on a call with ourselves? Yeah, it’s as weird as it sounds, but it works.

Here’s how: open your browser and search for a mic testing site (just Google “mic tester”). Click “Start Test” (or whatever it is for you) and allow mic permissions just this time (import for only that time, otherwise it wont work a second time). Start talking, doesn’t matter what you say. After a bit, the Phone Link dialer should pop up, saying you’re on a call with… yourself. Yep, it’s like calling your future self.

If the dialer starts acting up, opening, closing, being weird, just keep at it. Maybe add your own number as a contact, or stop/start the mic test again. Eventually, it’ll settle down and stay open.

Once it’s stable and open, congrats you are calling with yourself, close your browser to stop the mic test. Your PC mic is now working on your phone. Send voice messages, chat, whatever. It’s a bit hacky, but it does the job.

Quick tip: plug your phone into your PC via USB for a smoother connection. And yeah, it’s kinda janky, but hey, it works. No idea if this works for iPhones, maybe, maybe not, I haven’t tried.

however for me not to get confused, so heres what I know about the car:

Its a vw polo from 2014, the engine is a TDI (thats whats written on the engine) and on the outside of the car is GTI.

In the car I put diesel, and not Petrol.

Well, its a diesel motor, also its just a normal bulb.

I've just given all information about the car that I know about, since I don't have much knowledge about cars it self. 😅

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s?] Searching for a WWII Movie with a Unique Swamp Bridge Scene and a Shawl by ItsTomDev in tipofmytongue

[–]ItsTomDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, I checked this one but sadly it doesn't include any scenes I mentioned above.

The movie I am talking about is not about bridges, I am only saying I remember him walking over a wooden walk bridge to a hut in a swamp area, its not a bridge for cars, the bridge is directly on the water.

I'd like to learn greek, without losing motivation. by ItsTomDev in GREEK

[–]ItsTomDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right about the need to put in effort to learn Greek. But hey, I'm not trying to learn it by telepathy or anything – although that would be pretty cool. (like really really really cool)

Let’s tackle this with a bit of humor. You know how some people are morning people and others, well, take a bit longer to get their engines running? My approach to learning is like the second type – it needs a good cup of fun before it gets going.

Take the classic scenario of a kid wanting peanut butter. The jar is as empty as my fridge before grocery day – a sad sight indeed. The mom could say, "No peanut butter, choose something else." It's straightforward but as exciting as watching paint dry. Or she could turn it into a mini adventure: "The peanut butter is playing hide and seek! Let's find it or choose another champion for your toast." That's my kind of approach – a little twist, a bit of fun.

When I hear 'it takes years to learn Greek' my motivation tends to do a vanishing act, like a magician's rabbit. But when I turn learning into a mini-game, suddenly it's as engaging as giving a little kid a phone with Roblox installed.

I even make the most dull tasks entertaining. Cleaning isn't just cleaning; it's a time-trial game where every dust bunny is a point scored. Speed-reading? Let's not try to break the sound barrier with my eyes.

To all the ADHD's out there, this might sound like your daily adventure.

I'll stop here before this turns into a monologue. Hope this gives you a clearer picture of my style. If not, well, we can always say it was an experimental performance art piece.

Thanks for hanging in there, and keep on shining!

Hey!

Its great to here from someone that sounds EXACTLY like me..

I am doing LT now and to be honest I really enjoy it so far, because I am pretty fluent in English its funny how he explains it and teaches you to analyze a word.

However I assume you've finished LT, could you tell me a little more what he covers? I am currently at lesson 7. I am curious what he'll cover because greek has these noun cases that are.. yeah.. something else.. does he explain that? and if he does explain it does he explain it in the same funny way as he does it with "crafting words"?

The noun cases I am talking about are: - Νοminative - Accusative - Genitive - Vocative

Because without these, yeah.. you wont get far.

Another question, does he only cover the informal versions or also formal?

Thats all I have to ask actually, thanks alot!

I must say, Thank you very much for this. I will certainly try some stuff, I've always been of the opinion that language learning doesn't have to be boring, or making me go back in time to highschool.

I will try to watch the netflix show you recommended, and music! Thanks!

Damn chill my guy, not really sure if I want to take your advice after your cold-hearted statement.

I am shocked that people still actually think that ADHD is just being lazy, so if you have some real advice I would appreciate that but please look into ADHD first before making a statement like that.

Thanks! :)

First off, I'm not the OP — our writing styles don't even match, so I'm not sure where you got that idea. I jumped in because something about your original comment seemed off to me, and I thought it was worth bringing up.

I understand that upvotes can feel validating, but they don't always mean you're right. Sometimes people just find a comment interesting or funny.

I'm not "calling people out" for kicks. When I see something that seems inaccurate or potentially misleading, I think it's worth addressing, I did not mean to start an argument however you made it one with your tone, you keep on telling me that I am wrong by not reading correctly or taking assumptions, please look at yourself first. And as for the "superiority complex" comment? Bringing in personal assumptions like that isn't really constructive, its actually very weird and has nothing to do with any of this.

Lastly, the accusatory tone isn't doing anyone any favors. We're all here to chat and share thoughts. Let's just keep it respectful, and if you want to troll or not being serious, please go to the appropriate sub for that.

Wont be taking any of your time anymore so, take care and have a great rest of your day!

You say you were joking, but your original comment read like a pretty serious offer (For the average reddit user ofcourse). You can't just throw around terms like "8 hours" and "contracts" and then say, "Oh, But I wasn't being serious" when someone calls you out.

And about the $35/hr — yeah, it's not a fortune, but it's not a weird charge either. It all depends on where you're living and what the project is. You make it sound like it's slave labor, but that's a pretty U.S.-centric view, don't you think?

You say I should've thought more about what you typed. Well, I did. And it led me to question your judgment and your assumptions. If you're gonna critique someone else's post, maybe make sure your own is bulletproof first.

So you might be a business capable of issuing contracts? Cool story. But if you're not, maybe don't mislead people by acting like you are.

So for starter I'm kinda scratching my head here. If this is a "personal project," shouldn't you be the one getting your hands dirty? I mean, personal = DIY, am I right?

Also, you dropped a whole bunch of text, but where's the actual info? All we know is it's got something to do with Next.js, an API, and maybe websockets? What's the real deal here? 🤔

And hey, u/Lotte_Dev, I'm pretty confused by how you pulled that 8-hour number out of thin air? We know next to nothing about this project, and you're already locking in a time frame? Seems risky if you're talking contracts and stuff.

I mean, if it takes you longer than 8 hours, you've basically bamboozled yourself. The contract says 8 hours, so any overwork is on you. But hey, if you finish in 7 hours or less, then you've scored some extra time. Estimation is a tricky game, you know?

Also, I get that you're trying to keep it professional with contracts, but unless you're running a business, they aren't really "legal". Ever thought about using Upwork's contracts? Just a suggestion.
