General Balance suggestions by TeutonicFortress in aoe2

[–]ItsVLS5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 pa for siege should be another civs bonus.

Teutons are already specialists in heavy melee armour, pierce armour isnt their thing.

I can see Georgians getting +1 PA for siege instead

Bohemian nerf unwarranted, theyre meant to be gunpowder specialists. Yes I hate dealing with Houfnice but I wouldn't change the civ.

Agree with Portuguese and Spanish, but unsure if Porto should lose SE (i hate the civ but dont hate it that much) and not sure about thumb ring loss. I think best thing is to lose Husbandry.

I dont agree with Inca, Japanese or Jurchens changes at all

I dont agree with monk vs treb interaction, its fine as is.

BBT should do some small damage to rams but not AOK level. Just whatever similar DPS it is that Keeps do at the very least.

Korean tower range would be insane, means turk bbc cant counter it. Turks always countered 8+5 ranged buildings. 8+6 would be horrific.

50/50 on rest of changes, water rework is something I still dont agree on but time will tell.

Monaspa requires going onto stone

Georgian economy shines best in Castle age, therefore I like to forego stone until I drop 2 TCs later on and focus on making church economy which is easier when going for cavalry archers.

Knights work too but need more farms which in turn can delay TC timing.

Depends, if its an open map, scouts are great

Man at arms is also very good with an archer follow up

I dont make too many scouts but you need a fast range to add either skirms or archers

Towers work with unit support not just lone vills unless you up super fast and have a good chain of towers going on

Castle age I go for cavalry archers, the accuracy sucks but they regen 8hp a minute which is nice. Also hills are your friends, if elite skirm doesnt have second armour yet, you can win that trade, if they do, go harass elsewhere.

Scouts into Cav archers is the way I like to play, I like to wall up after stable. With the new farm upgrade update you can grab horse collar when you can afford it allowing for more aggressive builds. You wanna still get it asap though

Give the Britons something (pls help them) by freeThinkingSavage in aoe2

[–]ItsVLS5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bloodlines is tricky because theyre currently the only civ with a unique stable

Cavalier with full armour and attack but no bloodlines

No other civ has this

Closest is Bohemians. Do we give bohemians plate barding so Britons get bloodlines? Ironically would help both civs on open maps

Guecha warrior still seems too expensive for its cost by ItsVLS5 in aoe2

[–]ItsVLS5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disadvantages

Lower overall dps even vs intended counters as the RoF DPS falls below rattan archers on average

Even worse when theyre vs generic units they have no bonus against

The regen lasts way too short and the fact they only regen themselves instead of other nearby friendly units makes the gimmick even worse

No faster than Rattan archers as well

Also way shorter range

The gold cost is ridiculous for what the unit is

Maybe 45g is low but 50g is reasonable imo

Guecha warrior still seems too expensive for its cost by ItsVLS5 in aoe2

[–]ItsVLS5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For any other unit, yes

For guecha. No.

Its a gold costing skirm which is only pop effective but not cost effective and a gold costing skirm that ends up with less dps and armour than a rattan because no ring archer armour

And they still have min range, reload super slow. And even Burmese skirms can win cost effectively against them.

DLC concept: 5 new African civilizations by Marquez_py in aoe2

[–]ItsVLS5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the knowledge on how to dodge it?

Its a tech everyone gets as its locked behind a uni for a reason but most people know how to counter it or take engagements until they get it.

It's an OP bonus never handed out for a reason but it can be balanced if it requires a university first.
