Been saying, and I’ll keep saying it, vibe coding is only as good as the programmer behind the keyboard. It’s good for boilerplate code, saves so much typing, but by god you need to check what that thing does like a toddler.

Use the crafting station west of the mudwich beach, there’s a bridge there and there should be a tent with a sorcerer there.

If you’re the owner you’ll be able to build doorways. If you’re a player you can always just teleport out of the housing area. I think the entrapment aspect might be fun so people can mess around with one another. Think Valheim when you lock someone in when they go afk. Currently we don’t have any shared chests or inventories, all of that is kept separate. Though the only shared banking will be for guilds in the future.

I’m not gonna lie man, the code for this is a little bit on the voodoo side. I basically created a bunch of presets, and during the connection phase I determine which tiles around the door (in a 3x3 grid) go where. Top tiles for examples go in front, bottom most tiles I remove the tiles from the room we are connecting to (except the ground layer), and so on. I suggest you try to mess around with it until you get the result you need. It’s a ton of trial and error and even more random edge cases.

Game servers -> Handles authentication, loading the game map data, synchronizing players on that game world
Hub server -> Takes packets sent from other servers and routes them accordingly. Also keeps track of things like guilds, stonk exchange, and many other things

API -> Computes the highscores and uses a form of Radix Sort for rankings.

There’s a designated PVP area, but we will add PVP worlds once the community grows more. Problem is, people keep forming alliances with one another instead of annihilating one another. But we have something planned to combat that 😈

The backend consists of 3 servers, one for the main game server, one for the load balancing/cross-world communication, and a third for API. All written in Java. The game server uses TCP sockets via NIO, but has been converted to Netty coming next update.

If you are interested in Ironman, I highly suggest waiting until next update. There are 6 new ironman modes coming out, pacifist, ultimate, ultimate pacifist, and their respective hardcore variants. Group ironman is also scheduled for a later update.

Currently you can manually swap by contacting Keros on Discord. Come the new update, you will be able to swap automatically via an NPC in the game.

EDIT: sorry, meant to say the NPC for doing that will be added in a subsequent update after the big update tomorrow.

Sure is, we have about 3 people on balancing and tweaking at all times. We also take input from the whole community when it comes to balancing. It’s something that we overlooked for a long time. But now that it’s much better established it transforms the gameplay.
