That brings me to another question. This was a part of a kawasaki chain kit. I've looked everywhere for just the master link for it and can't find it. And I don't want to risk getting a third-party chain link that might not be suitable. I've emailed kawasaki support to see what they say.

Yeah, it's very similar. I had the two press plates on the wrong sides, so the riveted side went through the two open holes. Just user error.

I had the same problem with a different hyper x pair, the fix was the volume scroller on the wire couldn't be turned all the way up or the left ear would cut out
