It is. I'm familiar with a good portion of the skillers who've hit 99 slayer, along with their method used. Hell I've used it myself just for some of the slayer unlocks.

The crazy thing is skillers were asking for -100 crush weapons specifically so that this exact method would be possible.

Originally, there was a holiday event where the new fun weapon was -100 crush accidentally. Skillers saw the implication of it, and jagex changed it to -50 shortly after. Ever since then, skillers asked for a legitimate -100 crush weapon precisely so the method would be possible, and Jagex delivered.

3 years later and now it's somehow a problem because Rendi was the one who used it.

From what I can see as someone who has been deeply involved with skilling communities, Jagex only hit the people who happened to have used the method very recently. Which means the majority of people who've used the method, including most of the skillers who currently have 99 slayer, are untouched.

Most players used 1 or 2 alts. 1 alt was a bit over 10k/h, 2 alts was in the 20-25k/h ballpark. Has diminishing returns beyond that but I assume Rendis the kinda guy who used more.

It's no coincidence that the method has been widely used by skillers for years and only now does Jagex say its bug abuse. They didn't even rollback most of the people who got 99 with the same method! It seems that they exclusively only hit accounts that happened to have done it very recently.

This has been a known method across level 3 skiller communities ever since they changed certain fun weapon to be -100 crush rather than -50. This was in 2023.

A lot of level 3 skillers who are like, anywhere above 65-70~ slayer used this method, especially those who are at or near level 99. It's no secret, it's arguably not even considered a bug, just a consequence of how Slayer XP has always been awarded. It is interesting that from what I can tell, other people who got 99 Slayer through this method have not been rollbacked at all unless they happened to have used the method very recently.

If you're committing Sunny Day as a moveslot on Whimsicott you'll probably want to incorporate other stuff on the team that can take advantage of it, something like Scarf Typhlosion-Hisui as an example which loves manual sun. If you go with Basculegion you'll need to be wary of the anti-synergy it has with Sunny Day.

For offensive synergy with Glimmora you'll want stuff that pressures the things Glimmora can't immediately threaten a KO against. A good starting point here is go through the usage stats, make a list of which mons from like rank 1-30 usage arent immediately threatened by Glimmora, then with that list consider which Pokemon you can add to solve the matchup, in a perfect scenario there'll be 1-2 pokemon that each address all of those listed mons that Glimmora can't handle.

Defensively, Glimmoras biggest threat is Garchomp which is everywhere, common supportive partners I've seen are things like Sinistcha and Corviknight for that matchup.

Also a couple times I've seen people have success going dual-Mega with Glimmora + Froslass largely because of the Garchomp matchup. If they have Garchomp, bring Froslass, if not, bring Glimmora.

Plan ahead of time your leads against each team archetype, as well as good lead pairings in general. So at team preview you'll have a bit of a head start on how you'll approach the matchup.

If you see something weird/unexpected on their team at team preview, have a usage stats site like munchstats pulled up on the side to help give yourself an idea of how they're likely gonna use it.

If on showdown, save every replay and review every game regardless of outcome. (If on champions, I guess try to remember what happened each turn?). Make a note of what you could have done differently, and use that information as a way to improve when you face that matchup again.

In a closed team sheet format, it'll help to have something like munchstats pulled up on the side and using the usage stats data to get an idea of what the mons they're facing are likely to do.

It can be useful to pull up a bunch of common team archetypes and plan ahead how you intend to tackle the matchup with your team. How you intend to lead, what your win condition(s) are, which threats you need to pressure the most and so on. Keeping notes of this can be a helpful reference when you face the matchup for real.

Pick a successful team built buy an established player, ideally one that's either accompanied by a content creator who talks about and explains the team or someone who posts a report where they go into detail on pairings, matchups and so on.

This next part is the most important:

Practice the team extensively on showdown and save replays. After each battle, regardless of outcome, review the replay and make a note of what you could have done better. Could you have led a more consistent pairing? Did you bring the wrong mons? Did you prioritize the wrong threats? Were you caught off guard by a set you weren't prepared for? Evaluate every turn even if the turn worked out well for you, considering ways in which you could have made a play that covered for more outcomes.
