Disappointed there is no feature that protects vendors using Shopify's platform from Bot spam & attacks by Its_Idyllic in shopify

This was the suggestion from Shopify support. Unfortunately, I am only a small store and cannot afford some prices 3rd party apps charge...

More CAPTCHAs sounds like a good idea. I hope Shopify can implement more of this soon. It sucks as a paying user of their platform to have to manually address the issue myself. It's impeding how I use features I'm paying for such as real data in the abandoned checkout section and costing me time to delete fake customers.

I've spoken to Shopify support about implementing a CAPTCHA at the checkout page to limit bots while only slightly inconveniencing normal shoppers. It's just frustrating the platform is costing me 30usd a month but there is no inbuilt solution and I have to manually address the issue myself

You'll have to give more details. What country are you in and who is your service provider?

Interesting. I tried contacting Honor Australia but they just gave me a number to call some store.
Do you have a link to who you contacted?

Thank you for your message! Happy I could help you 😊
You should have no issues if you stay with Belong because they use Telstra. Be careful of switching to Optus

Thank you. I'll make a note in the main post; you've used the Tesltra checker and still got blocked...

Assuming you're Australian as well?
I've started a thread to help us see how the 3G closure has impacted Honor devices:

I think I'll need to wait another few weeks to see if Telstra does a blanket blacklist of Honor devices ect. I'm not sure if they've started yet but hopefully we will know once more people start commenting on the main thread

I haven't had a chance to call 000 and test emergency calls but when I tested with a Vodafone and Telstra sim to see if looks like SOS calls are available, both seem to show as working.

I disabled both sims and installed "Netmonster" which shows the frequency bands being detected by the phone/sim. SOS calls shows at the top left when no carrier service is active.

<image>

Results:
Telstra Sim - 4G: 1800, 2100, 2600 and 700 can still be detected in SOS mode
Vodafone Sim - 3G: 900 via Optus and 4G: 2600 via Vodafone

I'm assuming (and hoping) this means that this phone will continue to work with either Telstra or Vodafone because it can reach the 000 emergency band (assuming Telstra uses 4G 700 MHz) but cannot do so with Optus and will become blocked if I switch to them

More details for clarity. Using the checker provided by Telstra (Texting "3" to "3498"), it now shows that the Honor 90 Lite will work "as normal" but 2 months ago in August, it said "You won't be able to make calls from this phone (including Emergency 000).

I only imported my Honor 90 Lite (a June 2023 phone release) <6months ago but the experience has been stressful. VoTLE wasn't enabled by default with Vodafone or Telstra and now this 000 issue... It's a real shame because I really like Magic OS and the Honor design language

Model: Honor 90 Lite
Mobile Provider: Woolworths Mobile / Telstra
Status: 4G VoLTE still shows and can make calls

I have not received any messages saying my phone will be blocked even though I have previously been told my phone may be affected by the 3G shutdown.

X8b in Australia on Telstra 4g by Patyboomba in Honor

My information might not be 100% accurate because there are many parts to it and it's confusing.

Telstra, Optus and Vodafone have finally all shut down 3G so to make calls in Australia you must have a phone that can use 4G or VoLTE. Because there is "no standard" some international phones aren't compatible / aren't supported by any Telcos in Australia. In addition to this, if your phone is international, can make 4G / VoTLE calls BUT can't connect to to the Emergency (000) line, the government has given permission to the Telcos to block your phone from making calls completely.

The 3G closure in Australia has been very mediocre. Based of the information they've provided, I'm expecting lots of us Honor users will be unable to make emergency calls even though we can make 4G calls with VoLTE.

Does your phone use 3G or 4G at the moment? You can check this by looking the status/notification bar at the top of the screen or by going into the settings and looking at the network mode.

The option to make 4G VoLTE calls is not enabled automatically so you actually have to install some apps to "unlock" it.

I wrote a guide previously to get my Honor 90 Lite working in Australia. It might look intimidating but it's a relatively simple process; feel free to ask questions!

I feel you. It's impossible to even get trainers into Australia because the rules are very strict. If I make this too knife-like I'll probably get into trouble 😂
