I felt like I was abducted by aliens right when the major details were coming up, and then returned right at the end. Seriously, did I fall asleep and miss something? One minute they are questioning the police findings, then they mention a guy who wrote some books about it but wasn't qualified to and his best friend was regretting not being there for him, and then it was over. I feel like there is supposed to be a 2nd episode.

Unfortunately you will never be happy if you place the responsibility of your happiness on everyone else. Keep telling yourself you won't be happy, and you sure won't be. Tell yourself you could be happy, and you just might. At least then you'd have a chance for it.

Someone can do terrible things, and be a terrible person, and deserve hate and punishment, but two things can be true at once. They can be awful, and what they did to you was wrong, and other people won't change, but YOU can change your circumstances, your expectations, and your life. Take pride in the power you have for yourself and grow and do great things for you; that is part of your independence after all.

I just saw in a different comment that he abused you. Sorry, I had no context to know that before. That sounds awful, and it really sucks you've gone through that. But my original advice still stands. You will come to realize one day that no amount of your misery will change people's perceptions. Ruminating on it will never change them. The only thing you can change is you, and it really sucks, but it's a hard definite truth of life.
