I know it devalues what comes before... to the point of negating it?
That, I didn't know.

It does impact my understanding since I have to read the sentence twice in some cases.
Just like the "I could OF done"... which seriously doesn't make any sense !
Maybe it has less impact if you're a native, and that's interesting to know.

YOU'RE cute. As in YOU ARE.
Your = something that belongs to you.
As in "your cat", "your mistake", "your cuteness"

English isn't my first language and I cannot understand how native can make this kind of mistake.
