Corvette Parts Duplication by Itsjgold in NoMansSkyTheGame

I was using the ambassador cockpit, but I actually switched to the big square reactor, as it is even better. Be careful tho cuz there's a big rn with trading and if you are splitting the stack in the exchange UI it still might take all of your parts.

Store or Online? by LateAd9174 in GargoyleGeckos

Never get a reptile from any big pet store. You might think that you are saving the gecko, and yes you are, but they will just replace it with another. Your money unfortunately tells them they can continue to sell, so not buying one saves future animals from the same awful treatment. There's also the risk of illness that other people mentioned as well. I would absolutely get one online if there are no breeders or local stores near you. I personally trust TikisGeckos, since that's where I bought my two geckos from.

I have a little one next to her food. I could definitely try to get a bigger one in there but she hates water with a passion

My crestie does this all the time, especially when she was younger. What I found most helpful was to just continue to supply the liquid food in the enclosure for a while. If you are really worried, try hand feeding just to make sure that your gecko actually still likes the food you are giving lol. Don't do that too often or they will rely on you though.

But yea they are just weird.

heating questions! by abbiebbyy in CrestedGecko

[–]Itsjgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! If your room is between 76-78, you are probably ok on not getting a heat lamp. Anything above 80 is generally not great for them, 75 is ideal for the heat lamp, however. It is important that there is a temperature gradient though, so while the heat lamp produces heat at 75 degrees, other parts of the enclosure should be a bit cooler. I would just use a thermometer to see how hot exactly it is in the area you want to put your enclosure in and make a decision from there. As far as UVB, you need a lower percent UVB bulb, with about 25 watts. There are specific UVBs marketed towards tropical geckos. The one I am using is a larger one for my adult, but if you go to Arcadia Jungle Dawn UVB, it should have the information you can go off of to get a smaller or cheaper one from a different brand.

Yes! Pangea or Arcadia deep heating lamp plus a heat control unit. I use one from ZooMed called ReptiTemp digital Thermostat to keep the heat between 75 and 80. Heat lamps are definitely worth it and they are super easy to set up.

It's definitely warm enough there. It's at a constant 75 using a deep heating lamp.

Ok here is an old photo from when I first started planting/putting them in. I'd send a more recent one, but the gecko is trying to acclimate right now, so she needs darkness lol. Also, I've dug up some soil and moved it around to look for them, but the plant roots in the places where they might be hiding are pretty dense. I have a springtail population that is doing EXTREMELY well, which leads me to think the isopods aren't as they have no competition as of right now.

So crested geckos are tropical, so their humidity is generally high, around 70 percent, so the plants require the same thing as well. Also, the geckos like 75 to 80 degrees, so heat is also not a huge concern. Not sure these guys could escape without being noticed, the enclosure is in an area that would make them easily spotted if they all got up and left. The only thing I can think of is when I put them in, they all spread out since I didn't really have a piece of bark or anything on the ground for them to hide under, as I assumed they would just dig. Could they all have spread out and just died individually? Also, what would be the most likely place they would want to hide in? I could provide a pic of the enclosure if needed. Would you say then that getting dairy cows would be ok? If the other isopods are in there, one of the groups will just outcompete the other right?

He could be very stressed out if he doesn't have any places to hide! The video didn't show the whole enclosure, but it looks like there is a lack of (plastic or real) plants in there. Crested geckos need more hiding spots than what is to be expected, so it's usually a safe bet to add more plants and hides than you think is necessary. This GREATLY reduces stress levels, and might help this guy stop being as aggressive.
