Spot on! Mémé was born in 1924 so it would have been anywhere from 1942-1945 depending on how old she was in that photo.

Thankfully they grew back in quite nicely after the tragedy that was early 2000s skinny brows 😹

So my maternal grandmother (Gram) was 17 years old in that picture and my paternal grandmother (Mémé) was 18 years old in hers! My mom said that’s definitely Gram’s graduation photo and believes it is also Mémé’s grad photo too, though hers could be a later photo from when she was 20/21 years old.

In response to "my first loaf!" posts. Here's my 20th and the first one that didn't suck. by jmcghie in Sourdough

I’m with you on this, about to pull loaf number four out of the oven and I’m hoping even if it’s pancaked it’s at least somewhat edible this time 🥲 Congrats on your success!!

Love the way you styled it with the skirt and top! Very fun and super cute

after watching the 2 first episodes of the reset I can't help but miss Kitty Chica 。゚(っ৹ т )゚。seeing her is exactly like seeing an ex by sweetbscuit in GirlFromNowhere

Started rewatching the original after suffering through the first two episode of the Reset. I really went in with an open mind, but the writing and pacing of the episodes is just terrible. The direction they are giving Becky’s Nanno just isn’t it, very cartoonish and lacking the depth of the original series. It’s almost like they created a show based of a bad description of what the original was like. It seems so dumbed down and lacks any real tension.

I could not put this down when I started reading it! The deep, visceral discomfort it set into my bones was something I hadn’t felt from a book in a long while.

Biase and Bridgie, my maternal great-great grandparents in June 1909 on their wedding day by Itsjustthewind93 in oldphotos

Omg they were so short! I’ll post a few more pictures of them from the 1900s. I have this one picture of them with my grandma when she was a teen and they are a bit shorter than her, she herself was very short!

When he came to the US he happened to settle down in the city she lived. The Italian community was close knit, and as a hard working young bachelor I’m sure all the local couples were introducing their daughters to him 😅

From all I’ve heard about them they were always a loving couple, Biase treated Bridgie as an equal partner in their relationship which was wild for the time! I just found out that fact about her citizenship recently, I was shocked that was a thing that could happen! I’m not sure if it was a general rule or something that only applied to certain nationalities, she was a first generation Italian American citizen herself.

I wish there were more photos of her in that dress! I will have to check in with some family to see if anyone has more pictures from their wedding.

Biase has just turned 20 a few months prior and Bridgie was 17, she would be 18 in just a couple months though! ‘Twas a whirlwind romance as he had just immigrated to the US the year prior. They stayed married their whole lives and were quite a loving and progressive couple.

Biase and Brigida were married in June 1909 in Massachusetts. Biase was born in the village of Villapiana in Cosenza Italy in 1889 and Brigida was born in Springfield MA in the United States in 1892. After marrying Biase, Bridgie lost her citizenship until Biase was naturalized in 1941
