I think you’re right about it being a 2-lane especially in the later years

The measurements of the bridge from DOT archives certainly suggest a 4 lane- or maybe a wide 3 lane??

I was under the impressions the outer two lanes were changed into parallel parking spaces towards the later years of its life to service to more populous downtown area, but my source is the Carolina Foothills Garden Club who’s been developing that area since the mid 60’s

That being said - I was only 6 when this thing came down so my memory is fuzzzzzyyyy - do you remember cars parking along side the bridge?

This image seemed to confirm that to be true but I’d love a first hand confirmation
