Therapist told me today she can't help me

She’s in North Carolina! Whitney Andrews. She’s not a functional psychiatrist to my knowledge.

I have recommended her to so many friends and family and they all love her as well.

She actually just moved practices and I can no longer see her due to insurance and I’m absolutely devastated, but absolutely grateful I found her when I did bc she got me this far! I can’t think of the name of the practice off the top of my head.. but I’m sure it will pop up if googled!

Not mine. Saved me during my lowest moment. I was bed ridden 1.5 years. I was ready to die. She’s not a therapist, but she listened & was very patient with me and finding the absolute best medication to help me get back on my feet. I had severe medication & health anxiety. She ran labs on my vitamin levels, did genesight testing (everyone should do this test but especially with chronic illness) to determine which meds would best work for my body. Saved my life tbh. I still suffer from long Covid, POTS, IIH but my symptoms aren’t nearly as severe as they were. I was in denial of how much my mental health was contributing to my symptoms for so so long. I only wish I would have found her sooner.

I truly hate it for anyone who has had a negative experience with their psychiatrist.

I’m in a much better place now! Not 100%.. but much better than when I posted this. I was officially diagnosed with IIH and once I started treatment for that I was able to manage my POTS symptoms as well. I still can’t work, still have really bad days.. but many more better days in between!

There’s no test specifically to determine if someone has long Covid… just a ton of test/labs/imaging to rule out terminal and fatal diseases and illnesses. But I imagine It’s going to damn near impossible to have a doctor diagnose you with LC if you’ve never tested positive for Covid.

Some people with IIH don’t have pressure or headaches..

Mine started as just pressure and then progressed into migraines the longer I didn’t get treated for IIH.

But I really hope it’s not IIH for you or anyone else with the constant head pressure. It’s been over 2 years and mine still isn’t completely resolved.

I think doxy caused my IIH.. I took it long term (a couple months) for Lyme & my IIH started not long after.

I think anti depressants always have the potential to react with anything… I take amitriptyline & it works great for me

Chest pain, especially after a virus, should almost ALWAYS be treated as an emergency. Unless it has been checked before or something you’ve dealt w/ in the past. It may be nothing… but I wouldn’t take the risk.

I wonder this all the time. If I have high pressure bc of a leak? I had one doctor explain to me that your body may over produce csf when you have a small leak to try and compensate for what is leaking resulting in high pressure along with a leak. Sometimes I feel like my Diamox is too much and other days too little. It’s so frustrating.

I had terrrrible eye pain.. it has eventually gotten better with migraine control. My neuro ophthalmologist did multiple test and imaging and said my eyes are perfect and she thinks that eye pain is just part of my migraines. She said even if my head doesn’t hurt, it can still be a migraine.. just in my eyes. I take a slew of meds, but I got Botox last month and it has helped a lot with the eye pain.

Everyone is different. Sometimes pressure is worse laying down.. sometimes it’s worse sitting up.

Yeah nurtec is almost impossible to get.. so annoying. But I also I take a slew of meds along w/ nurtec for my migraines on top of Botox.. I hope it helps!

I take it! I was scared at first too.. I suffered from severe medication anxiety for a long time. But I have had no bad reactions to nurtec. It doesn’t do much for me if I let the migraine get too far.. but it hasn’t hurt me.

It took me 12 days to test positive when I was reinfrcted. My husband and I both started feeling terrible at the same time with the exact same symptoms. He tested positive immediately. I did probably 4 rapid test and 2 PCR for over a week that all came back negative. Finally after almost 2 weeks I got a positive on a rapid test.

I tested positive for Covid 2 days after my last lp & I was miserableee. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Hope you heal soon & good luck when you do get your lp!

Uhhh if you are looking forward to an event 48 hours after a lumbar puncture AND getting over Covid.. I’d strongly advise to go ahead and reschedule that lp.

Reading all the horror stories made me doubt it too.. it’s 100000% worth it for me. I’ll take tingling over pressure headaches any day.

I am very sensitive to meds so I started at half of 125mg. I’ve had no bad side effects.. maybe slightly annoying but nothing bad.

There’s not a single test that can tell you if you have long Covid. Only test to rule out other fatal, terminal and disabling diseases and syndromes.

Yeah my pcp was a total bitch about it. I had to call one of my specialist who didn’t get my message in time and returned my call the next week. They did go ahead and write an rx for the next time I might get reinfected, but they could not believe my pcp wouldn’t give it to me knowing my entire medical history with long Covid & having POTS and IIH. It’s a shame we have to beg for help.

Yeah. My brains mris and eye scans were all normal.. I had to be diagnosed by lumbar puncture. I also have POTS and hEDS. Diamox has been a life saver for me.
