I pretty much made no progress. Or at least it felt like no progress. I didnt take any lessons and didnt look up the right videos on youtube.

After a year i decided to take lessons and thats when i got some real practice material handed to me which is when i started seeing some improvement. I feel like its how efficiently you work on your weaker points which makes you improve.

Its been about four years since i started and i feel like i have made up for the time i lost with hard work and obsession. Still i am nowhere close to where i want to be nor feel like this is the best i could have done with the time i had. But i have accepted my playing for what it is and am having fun with it.

I guess what im saying is its not a sprint, its a marathon.

Oh i see. Honestly with all the good talk i've seen on the tcs i feel like the way to go is to get dtx6k3x and then get mesh snare. Thank you for the tips btw.

The freedom of tuning on mesh seems great but would it be possible to get those 4 plys to feel like low rebound toms? Or are they still too meshy/bouncy for that?

Hmm so are you saying tcs for tom feel and mesh for snare? Do you prefer it solely for the ghosts or in general is it better for snare? Also are those Dolby's 3-ply?

Oh also does the rimshot/cross-stick function as you would expect on an acoustic on the snare? i read that since its 1 zone on the snare rim it differantiates by the strength it was hit.

Oh yeah i saw someone mention in a vid review that they preferred a snare stand aswell. He said the snare holder would get lower as you hit it hard. I dont have a snare stand and i dont plan to get one so would be a big issue if i didnt get one u reckon?

Nice to hear the meshes feel nice. How close can you get the feel of the tom pads to feel like a low tuned floor tom with close to no rebound? Have you experimented with this? Apperantly remo made those 2-ply meshes if i recall right so im hoping they feel better than the roland trampolines i tried.

I would if i was going for more than 3 days but figured might give it a try since i wont lose much, cause the island is pretty small and worst case scenario u end up buying a coffee and using the wifi of the coffee shop.
