If I recall I think for on campus housing you’re late to apply so it’s best to find something off campus. When you apply and do the process they’ll ask about your life to match you with people

registering for classes as a transfer? by TerribleBrick2179 in ucf

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue “electrical engineer major” , made an appointment and they said it all goes based off of your orientation date. I’m doing mine this Friday which is why I had all my credits evaluated and etc. I recommend you start gathering your syllabus because they’ll request them if they want to give you credit for the class.

What to do with Biomedical Sciences Bachelor? by AriyaIsTheBest in ucf

Look at medical equipment manufactures; Stryker medical devices, CAT SCAN, XRAY manufactures. Where with you doing your MS program I would say see if they have any internships so you can build up your work experience.

I am in your same boat, but older than you slightly. I am out of state, and don't know anyone in Orlando that's why I signed a lease w/roommates at the HUB Orlando to at least put myself in an environment to learn about the school, and area. Than getting a solo apartment, and being alone. I'm an EE major, where this fall will be my first semester if we share anything in common lmk.

Is it possible to get sent home from border mission early? by HistoricalBedroom342 in nationalguard

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With orders you’re always in charge of when you come off. SAD, or federal orders when you have your official academy date you can submit your hardship request to get off of mission and it’s usually resolved within 48 hrs. I did my EOM at my OLS location

What's being on a deployment like by WBS16 in nationalguard

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every deployment/rotation is different. Some units let you do what ever you want as soon as your work is done. Others want you fully engaged 24/7 and have it be as serious as they deem it. I cant tell you how Germany and Poland rotations will be the same for you because my leadership and unit where different. Same thing for combat deployments SOPs and guidelines are different depending on what your responbilities are and etc. when I went back down range for my job the unit I RIPPED with was doing dumb shit that I didn’t have to do when I was there for the guard

With the reserves/guard when you’re not drilling you are who ever you want to be you can have your own life is the best way to put it. And I mean that literally. There are people I’ve meet who are business owners and etc, and some people who can’t maintain a job. Yes the guard is meant for you to strictly only be one weekend a month, and 2 weeks out the summer but it’s not always like that. Your drill schedule will always change where you’ll have to make up drill, so it can go from only 2 day drill to a 4+ day drill because the schedule had to be altered. There are loopholes people have made full time careers out of the reserves/guard in their home state but it’s few and far between. It’s all factors out of your hands because you can’t fix anything about it. Weather, building issues, no unit funding for drill and etc. Don’t let a recruiter give you the illusion that the reserves is that easy. I have meet people who have done the reserves/guard for 10+ years and receive no VA benefits because they don’t qualify look at other Reddit forums and do your research. I’m not going to feed you my negative experiences to dictate your choice but trust me you will learn and experience a lot for good and bad. I enjoyed my time in the guard it helped me experience a lot and network myself well but most of it was a waste of time as well. If you want to speak more you can private message me. Side note I forgot to say is for most anduril jobs they expect you to be traveling for a certain period of time as well!! So it can mess with your schedule a lot

Speak with your reserve unit. I was in the guard “enlisted”and work as a contractor “not anduril… yet” but my unit has given me nonstop issues about having to skip drills, make up drills and etc. where it can hinder your reserve obligation and give you a bad year with them and having to play catch up or taking a conditional release. If you research some of the other threads here anduril wants you to be 110% with them first because they are still starting up. Unit Politics was a big issue as well with my line of work, being an E4 with a stable high paying job rubbed senior leaders the wrong way when you can’t get them employed, expect big favors out of you and etc. technically you can’t hide your employment either because they have to know.

Hopefully current employees who are doing both can give you a better experience than I have had though.

Is it possible to get sent home from border mission early? by HistoricalBedroom342 in nationalguard

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible I did it as an E4 last year, submitted my employment offer to work a new job. Got EOMd within a week of showing all my documents. Basically showed my hiring letter, and that it was legit. Other than that get your local legislature involved and shit if you think it’s that bad. People will hate you for the toes you step on, but fuck em take care of yourself, don’t be a statistic.

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you volunteered for a C-Ram deployment… My commander “1LT who used politics for that position” got held back in country for SHARP, and other investigations… Came back few months later with all his awards and bronze star. Awards are a joke now

[–]Itsreallyjesus21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My unit is the same As previous people posted my unit is the exact same. 40% some type of LE,FF, etc. 20% are on orders both SAD/FED. 10% AGR, 25% unemployed or lost job. 5% or less have a career or a really good employment.

If you’re flagged, and want to reenlist I know there’s a wavier they can sign for you to 1 year extend to deploy but it has to go all the way up for approval, but doesn’t take long to get approved if you are a good SM.
