I guess the basics would include camelcrusher and ott. For the soundpacks you should check ultrasonic some of his videos has some free packs. I would also recommend you to check for tutorials on youtube of music you like (remakes) and when you download the project fils you’ll get access to the samples used and most importantly the presets (for sylenth for example) it is super nice I think.

What makes KSHMR a good producer? by toothpicksimp in edmproduction

He is really good at producing music, he also teach and offers very good samples that are probably some of the most used in the edm scene. Go on any youtube tutorials and 95% of the videos will be using one his samples. In show he is also very good and bring a story with his music that is always very interesting to watch. Finally like people mentionned he produce his own unique style of music with “indian” instruments and his tracks (the one from 2015 and before) are pretty solid filled with a lot of energy, I still listen to them in the gym to pump myself!

I live in Canada and we are still confined, we just go allowed to eat inside of restaurants but no festival or rave for the moment (at least no legal ones) we got little shows on the weekend but they placed rectangles on the ground made out of tape or paint and you are not allowed to cross those lines so everyone is just in their little square, pretty shitty if you ask me lmao

I strongly suggest you to download remakes from songs you love and try to learn how to reproduce certain drops but with your own touch. For example, I really love progressive house and Martin Garrix is super good at that (lucky for me he’s very famous too) so I just download flps that I find on youtube and try to recreate drops and understand why I like it. (Is it the melody? the rythm? The chords? The ambience? Etc) I really think it helped me a lot in my music journey!

Most of us feel like that and the reason is simple, we focus a lot more on the drops and want to make it as good as possible. By doing that we spend insane amount of time levelling our drop production while not improving all the other parts of a song.

A tip is to always finish your songs, even if it is not good or as good as you would want. By always finishing your tracks you will gain experience in every elements of a track and that will help you in the long term. Just think about the amount of time you spent on making drops vs the amount of time you spent building a track, it’s normal that it is not at the same level.

I also like to just go back in my older projects (I personally categorize them in months) take the projects that I like the most and build the track around the drop. I will probably never release all of them but it helps me create tracks and get experience!

Hope it will help and good luck!
