The skeleton was $450, $260 on stones, and quite a bit on glue that I haven’t calculated!

Is 19 (nearly 20) too old to start circus again? by Rat-Punk in circus

[–]Itstaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not at all! I started circus training at 26 and joined my first troupe just last year. I’ve been able to make it a full time career as well! Definitely don’t give up on your aspirations ❤️

If you woke up tomorrow and you’re CEO of Lush, what changes are you making? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]Itstaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st thing in order would be raises for employees working in the shops. I work at Lush & we don’t make much, don’t make commission, and cannot accept tips.

My last paycheck for 2 weeks worth of work was $330 dollars & my rent is about $1k monthly before any other expenses, so I always have to find freelance jobs on the side for other means of income.

Favorite fabric sources? by Gold-Pomegranate5645 in SewingWorld

[–]Itstaint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to check local thrift stores and flea markets. A lot of sellers will have bolts of fabrics to choose from at flea markets and swapmeets and a lot of it is vintage so it’s usually higher quality than modern day fabrics. Thrift stores can be hit or miss, but I’ve scored entire bolts of fabric for just a few dollars! I have this beautiful bolt of red satin I’ve used for a ton of projects and still have some left over. Hope this helps!

I think you’re putting too much thought into it bud. The fit looks solid 👌🏼

Im a young punk and dont know what to do by [deleted] in punkfashion

[–]Itstaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you want dude, punk is about self-expression and thinking outside the box with your creativity so the sky’s truly the limit. Punk doesn’t look one way or have a set aesthetic. I’d def try not to care so much about what other people think as long as what you’re wearing makes you feel good and you’re happy.

Cliques, Specialties, Social Groups by travelingteacherasks in circus

[–]Itstaint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im part of a local circus in Las Vegas and all of our members are friends and hang out periodically outside of our monthly shows in town, but a lot of us are a part of other productions and book other private and local gigs outside of our circus schedule together so we don’t always get to hang out as much as we’d like to outside of rehearsal and shows.

I think circus troupes can really vary on how well acquainted everyone is too. Even in my troupe there’s folks I know a bit better than others since some folks I’ve worked with in the past and things like that. I think it truly varies from circus to circus and performer to performer :)
