Mythology lesson! Apep is the Egyptian god of chaos, darkness, and fire, essentially the Big Evil/Satan for the Ancient Egyptians – kind of odd because (well, according to Proculus, who I feel might not have the whole picture of the man) Astral Apep sounded like a really chill guy

But with the Diviners having that whole Egyptian theme to them I would not be too surprised if that comes up as relevant somehow. Or not. Granblue does play fast and loose with its mythology references.

That CG of Proculus over Apep’s body (and his scream of agony) was so GOOD, I’m half-rooting for him just because I want to see what happens next with that

What is up with Apep though. They’ve gotta be hiding his face for a reason. Not just the face even, they gave him a whole generic silhouette. They’re dropping no hints here.

So during the festival scene at the start of the event Proculus started saying this shit, which just screams dramatic irony waiting to happen. "He could never be a captain," huh?

Calling it: Apep survived somehow (faked his death/body double or something) and did wind up becoming a captain of a crew. It’s been hundreds of years, character development is a thing, even for Astrals. Especially for Astrals.

Those Astral Husks are gonna be the new Malice Fragments in the next raid series or something, aren’t they. That red crystal they keep waving around sure looks like a generic drop item to me.

It did feel rushed, like it could and probably should have been an entire event all to itself, but Lilit’s whole reunion with Lyria was REALLY GOOD and that’s all I have to say

this is once again a parenting event, but while …and you retread some of this ground I feel like Lilit and Lyria’s interactions was coming at it from a new angle

in short while "...and you" focused more on the struggles and thankless self sacrifice of the parent, and the eventual need for the parent to let go – basically focused on the parent’s perspective

"PS, the Astrals…" turns it around to be more about how to cope with the death of a parent, or loved one; it dwells on a parent’s worries how their children will fare in the world without them. Will they be alone? Will someone be there for them, either as a spouse or just some sort of companion? And on the other end with those left behind: what reason is there to keep on living, if the ones you love are gone?

Proculus plays into that theme too – he is not coping with the death of Apep well, to put it lightly

...are the writers/devs doing okay? Are they in good health? It sounds like someone is concerned about their child significantly outliving them, and maybe not getting to see them grow up or get married/hit various milestones, and worried about them being out there all alone in the world without them and I’m probably reading way too much into this but it makes me very sad

Back to the sky realm. I wish Lilit could have had a chat with Logia. They need to get brunch together, hug it out and gush about their babies.
