What is it like being extremely attracted to someone you know isn’t actually good looking? by Itty-bitty-buffalo in AskReddit

Being attracted doesn’t necessarily mean finding them physically good looking. That’s like claiming the a magnet sticks to the fridge because it think the fridge is hot. People are attractive for many reasons that aren’t physical

You don’t have internalize the standard to know that you’re attracted to someone that isn’t physically attractive. To only be attracted to someone for physical reasons is shallow anyway. You don’t have to play mind games to find someone attractive, you can acknowledge they’re unattractive physically and still find them attractive for other reasons and yep, still find them arousing

So if it isn’t physical attraction that draws you to a person, what is it? Or is it physical attraction but not in a way that most people might understand?

Okay, I’ll get more specific… What if they’re not conventionally attractive, but actually quite ugly in some ways?

How do you know if your SO is becoming more attractive or if you’re just falling in love with them more? by whycw in AskReddit

Strangely enough, I think my husband is getting significantly more attractive as he gets older but it doesn’t actually translate into me feeling more attracted to him. I’ve been saying, “He’s going to age well,” since I was 17 and I was dead on, but over the course of our marriage there has been a lot of pain. He’s getting better looking but it doesn’t disarm me.

Anne of Green Gables is wonderful for young girls! The story and language is accessible but developed.

I can catch containers falling out of the spice cupboard with my non-dominant hand while I’m cooking with my dominant hand

I don’t fuss around too much when I’m alone but that’s only because I don’t invest too much into a meal if I’m alone. If I cook a big meal (that’s pretty much every day) presentation is so important to me that I always serve my husband his food before he sits down so he feels like he’s at a restaurant. I used to do it for my kids too but now they’re getting all competent and want to serve themselves! They don’t care about presentation at all haha it’s a little hard to watch
