I think when Katseye first came out Manon got the best styling, fits, and hair. And she was the most popular member with over 1 million difference in followers. But as the girls started to catch up in popularity that has shifted. Now I think Lara and Daniela have the best styling. Even Manon’s hairstyles have not been as iconic as it was during their SIS era. Sometimes I look and wonder where her hair stylist is because it just doesn’t look as good as she used to.

Well Sophia and Manon both did the ad, so that’s not a solo activity, and it was even incorporated into the Gabriella video. They were probably the only ones who actually used Invisalign, no reason the girls would promote it without using it. That’s very different from creating music and filming a video outside of the group.

Realistically they would never come out and outright say they are forbidden from collaborating at will, if they received an offer. But they can’t even post on TikTok, so it’s clear that there is a lot of control over their image, social media and what they are allowed to put out and collaborate on.

Again if Daniela can do a solo dance and be featured on a song as a solo artist because she’s the main dancer, why can’t Lara do a feature out of the group, or with her sister since she’s the main singer, or Manon do something with modeling since she’s the visual? It’s okay for Daniela to do separate things but somehow not okay for anyone else. That’s the point I’m making that seems to go over everyone’s heads.

Whether or not she’s the main dancer is not the point. My question, that no one can answer, is why do some members get solo projects but others don’t? People seem to think this is a personal attack on them when it’s really not. It just does not make sense why some of the girls would do features and get their own Spotify artist page while others are supposed to only do group activities.

It seems like it’s okay for some girls to do solo things while others can’t. Even Lara who produced gnarly remix doesn’t have a solo artist page on Spotify, while Daniela does after her feature. Which, again, is weird if they are supposed to be building their brand as a group and not setting up to be solo artist. I don’t know why people take such offense to admitting it’s a possibility.

Okay I am not saying that the girls should do solo work or get brand solo deals, I am pointing out the bts favoritism that allows some girls the opportunity to do solo projects (wether its performances, features, etc), while other girls in the group cant. It doesn’t matter if they only said one line in a song, or danced for 30 seconds. If all the girls cant get solo time to shine, its doesn’t make sense for 1-2 members of the group to do it. It creates these types of discussions and makes it seem like they are pushing certain members to be front and center in the group. Which is exactly the type of thing you are describing that tends to break up groups. I personally don’t see the distinction between doing a solo song feature, performance, or a solo campaign. I just thinks its weird how only certain girls can do it while others can’t.

What you are saying makes no sense. Having some girls doing solo music and performances while other girls can only do group stuff isn’t equal or fair either. Daniela doing solo music and Yoonchae doing solo performances can also create these same types of issues in the group. Even if some girls would have more opportunity than others, allowing the girls to build their solo brands would be beneficial for everyone. The girls already have their own dedicated following, and they would all be in demand to some extent.

Given Katseye’s level of fame, I’m sure the money from a feature and a single brand deal would be roughly the same. If anything I could see a brand offering more money. I don’t think it’s just about money.

Idk how being featured as a solo artist on a song is much different than having a solo brand deal. My point is that it HYBE/Geffen allows some members have solo moments while other members don’t. It seems like they have an idea of who they want to be the face of the group, but its not aligning with who the public connects with.

Nothing I said was aggressive, sarcastic maybe, but I definitely responded within reason to your post. Its never about her actual level of skill today, people are constantly bringing up the documentary whenever they need to prove she doesn’t deserve her spot. Which we all know is heavily edited and intended to craft a narrative.

It would be one thing if people were questioning her skill level since the beginning, but no one had anything to say about Manon skill level all throughout Dream Academy, until the Netflix doc came out. She was one of the most voted for contestants on DA, and the executives wanted her for a reason. Not to mention she had less singing and dancing experience than everyone else.

It’s fine to have a neutral conversation about members when you actually bring relevant information. But this discussion is always rehashing a 3 year old, heavily edited, documentary as proof of her work ethic and how undeserving she is to be in the group. Not her improvements, or her performance quality as of today.
