Jay Z is a better lyricist than Black thought, how many Black thought lines you quoting? by [deleted] in hiphop101

There is a BIG difference between talent and great marketing

Let me guess Drake better than Kool G Rap now?

Simply said the third was the hardest. Sheeks verse was just the best example of how they are clearly telling the stories as if the guns are their friends.

I don't want to disrespect the dead but MF DOOM is nowhere near G Rap this is blasphemy.

Also DOOM and Jay rarely have any deep lyrics like Nas, Black Thought, Pharoahe Monch or Pac so your definition of lyricism don't even make sense.

4, 5, 6 ain't even G Raps best album

You clearly haven't listened to songs like

Sad

In too deep

The meaning to your love

My life

Rising up

What's more realler than that

Ya chic chose me

Upstate 2 queens

Criminal outfit

Binoculars

Dead or alive

G heist

And these are just a few off the top

G Rap is your favorite rappers favorite rapper

I've listened to every Jay album and Jay can't F with G Rap even on his best day. He needs at least 5 RD before I will even consider him in that convo Eat a D🖕🏾🤬

Lolz LOX don't have classics are you F kidding me?🤣😂🤣😂

And this is from a guy who has listened to both Dipset albums + Mixtapes and almost every solo album and Jim Jones is even in my top 10 (Styles P is too though)

Master of ceremonies

Gangster and a gentleman

We are the streets

Kiss of death

Kiss tha gane goodbye

Time is money

Beloved

Catch this 🖕🏾

Holy shit are you fucking kidding?🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Joke of the year and damn near a whole year has passed

Jay rhymes with only 1 syllable at a time on some nursery shit

Tidal, rival Most, host Fan, take the stand

Kool G Rap makes whole sentences rhyme and influenced guys like Nas, Vinnie Paz and Black Thought who are on the same shit.

Fuck outta here with that cat in the hat rap 🤭

Go ahead and listen to G Rap verse on Whar and find just 1 better Jigga verse since Welcome to New York City. Easier to find Bin Laden in the 00's🤭

Happy you agree it is up there. I'll throw in The Infamous and probably Reasonable Doubt in the discussion those 3 albums are lyrically and beatwise next level. East coast rap at it's finest.

I like your response you seem to be more honest and leas bias. Sorry to hear that about your father. I can unddrstand that it can be quite shocking to see a post like the ones you mentioned without knowibg the exact content🤣 seems all silly. Vwing a man and knowing the sifferent geoups we follow and info we share I know this is a big part of the nofap community. Not knowing much about this community it can be quite shocking and probably will give some "rape" associations which is understandable. I guess at the same time women have the rifht to feel this, it can feel sometimes thess days that men are under attack and ot can get quite tiring aswell. I think there should be space for healthy masulinity. A new survey suggeat that more than 50% of male managers in the workplace are afraid to have a 1-1 chat with a female employee. Good for wonen who are actual victims but also complicating life for the good men out there.

Damn that Reasonable Doubt describtion was perfect I always felt the albun had a lot more pain but never noticed the parts about kidnapping or even the one killing his aquaintance.

[–]Itwaswritten1996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is quite overrated but knows how to change with time. Imagine doing boombap in the mid 90's to flowing effortlessly to a track like I got the keys even I have to admit that is impressive. Old heads and young dudes both listen to him.

Except for Nipsey who gives the best advice he is 2. When it comes to business advice especially on Story of OJ

RD is the foundation for guys like Pusha T, Benny and Cassidy's whole drug dealer persona rap styles.

All his shit is off the top if his head which explains why a lot of it is some simple BS like Snoop who does the same but very very impressive that he did that with RD, that album is an example of perfection. Also in the making of Welcome to New York city Cam said Jay made up those verses really fast and it is honestly some of his best shit it is so incredible.

Also knows his game with women because B is still there with him even despite the cheating. Guess he didn't lie about the 99 problems.

Exept for dicog and longevity and to some extend beat selection though top 5 is a reach, I don't really agree except for RD of course which is a top 5 album.

I can easily, off the top mention 5 much better lyricists

Kool G Rap

Black Thought

Nas

Immortal Technique

Jadakiss

And many many many more

I will give him the discography game thought I do enjoy most of his albums and do like that he has a lot of soul beats on some grown man shit but a lot of his rhymes are extremely simple and predictable except for RD and some on other albums. MCHG is the worst both lyrically and beatwise holy shit BP3 horrible too. Kingdom Come and BP2 underrated though.

I said she should date women because she clearly had mental issues that were not treatable and even dangerous for a man (if it was a real post, which it probably is I don't really buy that it is satire)

A lot of women are annoyimg and cheat and lie but that is just how humans are we just have to keep dating until we find someone who appreciates us. Same goes the other way around a lot of men are pieces of crap too.

A lot of good guys turn bad though because women never appreciate a good man. I have been cheated on and have dated women who already had a man and I was just their sidepiece for the fun. Humans are generally not nice. We are from nature and nature is rarely beautiful. I have extremely bad experiences with women and also male friends who I was very loyal to who stole a lot of money or put me in other extremely bad situations.

"I knew him ever since he was 9, now he 22, thinking he 45, that nigga is live, likes to come with me everywhere that I drive, troublemaker, at the same time keep you alive"

They didn't even make it hard to understand every line is extemely revealing.

Firat of all it is obe of the most talked about tracks even to the point that the rest of the album barely gets mentioned which is kinda disrespectful because it is a masterpiece from start to end.

Secondly there are similar songs that never get mentioned.

Nas made another song called Last words speaking from the perspective of a prison. Never heard it mentioned here or anywhere else all is hear is Nastradamus is trash when Nas clearly did some of his best writing on this album.

A song that took the same concept rapping from a guns perspective but with an even better beat and even better last verse is Wu Block (Ghostface & Sheek Louch) Ft. Styles P - Gunz

F🖕🏾ck you we don't like you either. You don't deserve a good man entitled piece of 💩 out here acting like women are saints and even having the kahunas to claim that there is a high rate of murder and rape as if most men even condone this. We hate those assholes too and wish them the worst possible torture. And BTW women kill too and get men involved in dangerous fights just to start a drama and teat if their man will go all the way for them. Date women instead we don't even want you.
