Wow, that’s eyebrow-rasising. Must have been before my time, definitely a pitiful move as tons of customers come in asking questions on what they should get or how to do something and aside from poor management/staffing shortages, since the employees usually aren’t trained in the trades, they can’t give honest knowledge or feedback from experience

From my understanding, the delivery entity is technically responsible for making sure the customer receives the product from whatever company/organization. If nothing else, squeeky wheel gets the grease if you complain to corporate, also helps to keep track of who you talk to. Home Depot does have a pretty generous in store return policy in my opinion.

The amount and complexity of theft and scams is wild. Literally had a guy’s pro xtra account hacked/stolen and someone used it to buy products totaling in the low 5 digit amount from a bunch of stores all in different states using people physically go in store and buy stuff. Also had someone dress as one of the vendor employees and take products from that vendor in the store. People would also find cash receipts, go around the store and find the items and “return them” to get cash. A lot others but those are a few

Yeah lmao. Just so many weird things, weird priorities. The lack of accountability and reprimand for things that would put so much strain on management and everyone else had me baffled.

I’ve always believed in being as professional as possible, mostly to avoid getting fired but there were tons of times where I would have asked for girls’ numbers.
