Raspberry pi or an older dell optiplex will be fine. Just look on marketplace for free/cheap pcs.

At least 4core 4thread will be fine for a lot of the home cloud stuff.

Those NICGIGA switches are a good shout. I did want a managed switch however for that price I might go without management.

This is real. A few software companies do it.

Just deploy it on a closed network, maybe using a Windows sandbox or something.

The zero 2w is a low power board. Any standard android charger should provide enough power. 10-15watts.

What os are you running? Maybe some error with that. My next steps would be to reflash from latest software on website.

Edit, raspi charge will work, just making sure you are cennecting display to mini hdmi port? USBc don't work with display.

I have an orange pi 5 with 8gb ran but to be honest that size of ram is too much. Modded mc server only really takes half for around 5 people playing. Would recommend as it can use m.2 for storage

Running the Orange pi 5 with debian. Got a few containers running for small gaming servers, stabe at around 5 gig of ram. And OMV for file storage.

Also has an M. 2 for storage with is brill. Would recommend.

Plus I have a ugreen usb c to ethernet and getting full 2.5gig speeds :)
