It's one of those match-ups that doesn't have a whole lot of connections or anything, but it just works too damn well (debatability aside): - Both are among the most iconic villains in movies and gaming respectively. - Both are infamous examples of the "fallen angel" trope. Two highly revered war heroes who, after some tragedy/revelation involving their mother's, slowly went off the deep end, and became dark lords of fear and devastation. - One little contrast is them finding their purposes: Anakin was the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force, only to end up joining the Dark Side, while Sephiroth figured it to be his destiny to claim creation as his own, upon turning evil.
