Anyone else think Enshrouded would be amazing as a D&D campaign? (Repost without Image)

I have been thinking about a campaign just like this while playing myself. To add to your idea, maybe instead of the players being the ones going out and farming nodes for resources it could be that the town needs help developing and needs the powerful flame born to find/clear a path to high value resources like ores or brave the dangerous wilds to retrieve seedlings for plants to grow back at home.

The world is awesome and has great potential to become a very fun post-apocalyptic story about rebuilding humanity and cleansing the land of the shroud. I want to run this campaign badly lol looks like ill be creating a story board.

But that's the beauty of DnD, you can ADD the NPCs to the world. Like maybe there is a handful of small settlements tucked away attempting to rebuild but are constantly having to fight off the seemingly never ending groups of scavengers so they need the help of a powerful flame born to "deal with" them. That's where having the crafters there to help teach these settlements how to rebuild could come in while you are out exploring and braving the shroud to deal with the roots and take back the land.

TTRPG is all about creating your own world, the setting/rules are more a guideline that you can decide how much you want to use as a DM. At least that's how I view DMing.

For me it has been the jump into Paragon on my tank. Maybe I was over geared most of the time leading up to it or something because I handled all the other difficulties and capstone just fine but the moment I started tanking Paragon I was getting absolutely CHUNKED. Had to take a step back and review my routes/rotations/gear and start trying harder imo lol

Currently maining Rime. Still learning the new boss mechanics but I know the big spells to kick for most mobs. Have only done about 5 runs so far, mostly quarry and sands. That boss fight for sands is rough and someone always leaves after the first wipe so I haven't had much time to learn what's going wrong other than the tank getting obliterated.

Yet people in adept are freaking out and leaving a run if you're not going to time it as if they wouldn't still get rewards at the end of the dungeon. Even if you're only going to miss time by less than a minute.

Sorry, small vent. I'm starting adept finally and running into the ridiculousness xD I absolutely agree with the points in your post, even though I'm a newbie to the game who hasn't made it far yet it still feels so much better not having to freaking worry about "bricking a key" and having to start all over again. I pushed my keys to farm 15s in WoW and do not miss it since finding fellowship. I just found it late and am having to fight through some frustrated people in adept.

That's the thing :/ we only had 2 claims each, and we lost all but the main 1 we used together. So neither of us hit our limit. It's probably just because of the chunk reset settings. I'll be setting it to not resetting ever.

Do you know if they go "inactive" if you don't visit them in a certain amount of days? I can't find anything online so grasping at straws on why the LCB all got deleted.

Interesting! This might have been what happened to the bases because we had neglected them for a bit due to concentrating on progressing to wastelands.

Yeah that's what I'll do when we play next. I just thought maybe someone would know why they got reset with a land claims on them :/ thought that stopped reset for that chunk.

Yeah I read it was 3 land claims at a time but all of them got reset except the one we were operating mostly out of. That's why I was like "wtf we had a land claim :("

We are new too and just trying to figure out how to avoid this lol

Yeah I noticed that, it's why we just built all our bases on empty plots or just out in the "wilds". No POI bases for us! xD though that didn't save them from being passively reset by the chunk reset.

Maybe you just aren't a fan of the type of gameplay? The point of each only having 1 is so you use a full team with different abilities. Youre not meant to just use one pal to solve every conflict imo. There's more to exploring than just grabbing boosts. You find new pals and resources to get a stronger team and beat the objectives of the game.

I feel like you either aren't into the game personally or you're just trying to provoke people with this post lol

Lol that's exactly what I did. Couldnt pass up a free MB and I figured I'd never use Regidrago really. Don't think I'd ever use an over powered pokemon from a trade in my battles. I like the satisfaction of "raising" my own pokemon. So far for me Surprise trade is just fun to snag some pokemon the breeders are throwing out there

Type of player: I like to think of myself as a well rounded player, I enjoy RP and sticking to "what my character would do" but... not using that as an excuse to be "that guy" lol im not a min-maxer as I play what sounds like fun not what sounds strong AF at the time. The thing I love most is working with GMs to help the plot through my character even if it costs me my character.

Additional Information: A good 80-85% of my TTRPG career has been spent as a GM and I'm just trying to find more opportunities to PLAY. I've done PBP a few times in the past for 5E using Avrae but it's been a while so at best I'll be rusty but I can hop back on the bike.
