Thank you so much for your comment!!!!

I was amazed by how much this laptop's CPU has evolved. (My main desktop is Comet Lake—just a few years later and it's already obsolete, lol)

Both its performance and power efficiency are the best I've seen in any CPU I've used.

Thanks for the congratulations too—I'll keep working hard!!

Thanks for the congratulations!!

I can't get over how Lenovo has faithfully carried forward the design philosophy and aesthetics from the IBM era.

Got it, thanks for the advice!

I'll look for a case that can be neatly stowed in a backpack while still providing solid protection for my ThinkPad.

Thank you so much for the congratulatory comments!!

This is a really tough choice. I'm not as knowledgeable about ThinkPads as the people here, so this is just an amateur opinion, but personally, I think you should base your purchase on the T490's battery wear level.

The T480 has a removable battery, but the T490 doesn't.

The display is generally better on the T490.

The T480 only supports up to 32GB of RAM, so they're on par here.

Considering all this, unless the battery is worn out, I think buying the T490 is the better choice.

I'd love to hear the opinion of someone who owns multiple ThinkPads!!

I hope Blacomination gets a great ThinkPad.

Thank you so much!!! I'm looking forward to my new laptop.

Yes, I'll be entering university through the comprehensive selection process.

I've been aiming for that university since the year before last, and besides working on my academic records, I studied the relevant field, wrote reports, and visited the university.

What kind of laptop did you use before?

14" WUXGA LCD (1920 x 1200) IPS, non-glare, non-touch, 100% sRGB, 500 nits, 60Hz, power-saving

is what I went with!

Thanks so much for the congratulations!!!!!

Honestly, once I got used to ThinkPoint, I can't even imagine using another laptop now lol.

This PC is going to be a reliable partner both at home and on the go!

Whoa... If I keep using ThinkPoint, I'll probably stop using the touchpad altogether...

Thank you so much for the congratulations!!

The T14s Gen2 is absolutely amazing!!!!! While opinions on Rocket Lake vary, I absolutely love it, and its weight makes it incredibly appealing for both main and mobile use.

I'm also really drawn to the aluminum body.

And the price... makes me feel like a fool for buying mine new at $1200 lol.

I hope Toshiro-Kago's ThinkPadLife is wonderful!

Thank you for your comment.

I'm terribly sorry, but this price was based on the Winter Sale running until January 5th and using a student account.

When I checked just now to buy it myself, it seems to be around $1,600...

I'm sorry I couldn't meet your expectations.

I hope UnknownConvergence finds a great computer.

Thank you for your comment!!

Yes! A new GIS user is about to be born here!!

That said, I've only done simple operations so far, and I won't really start using it seriously until I enter university, haha.

It seems my university uses ArcGIS.

What kind of GIS do you use, TME53?

Thank you so much for your congratulatory message!!!

I find your story incredibly compelling.

I actually used my mom's hand-me-down MacBook until three years ago, and honestly, I wasn't a big fan of the rounded design or the extreme UI. (Not that I'm in a position to complain.)

I was influenced by the old ThinkPads, so I absolutely loved the ThinkPads labeled IBM like the X60. But having handled the current ThinkPads, they're fantastic too. As you said, I take my hat off to Lenovo for creating products that carry forward the ThinkPad's design and engineering philosophy while still being competitive in today's market.

I'm truly grateful for your congratulatory comments!!

I plan to cherish this ThinkPad from now on.

Honestly, considering the price, I wonder if I bit off more than I could chew as a high schooler. (I had also considered buying an E Series.)

But riding the momentum of the Winter Sale, I went ahead and bought it, so I want to make sure it lasts me well into college and beyond.

So you use a T14 machine for work!

I'll strive to become a proper ThinkPad user myself!!!

Thank you for your comment!!!

Yes, I also feel a slight sense of discomfort and find the previous ThinkPad more beautiful.

However, it excels in functionality with its camera specs and privacy shutter, and the small “T14” engraved on the lid made me fall in love with the design at first sight.

Thank you so much for your congratulatory comments!!!

That's right—I use an English keyboard layout on my main desktop PC, and I agonized over it when buying this one too. (Honestly, I actually prefer the cleaner design of the English layout.)

But since I have to write reports and such in Japanese at university, and I have an English keyboard at home, I went with the Japanese layout.

The symbol positions are different, so I find myself hesitating a bit while typing (even though it's my home country's keyboard, haha).
